Turbo oiling issues..

Hi everyone, I have a 2003 NB miata that I’ve been building the past 3 years, and last weekend I got it started. It idles perfectly, however there was white smoke coming from the engine bay and an oil leak had revealed itself. It’s happening on the turbo side, which makes me believe it’s going to be oil feed or return. Once I started pulling the intercooler lines from the turbo, I noticed a bit of oil leaked out. The turbo is a brand new G25-550, so I doubt the seal is bad. The next diagnosis would be my oil return. It’s a 45 or 60 degree (I don’t remember) 10an fitting to a questionable hose slope that I was hoping would be good enough, but maybe not? What do you guys think? Is the turbo not able to drain oil quick enough, and how would you go about making one with my setup? It’s a kraken low mount with a g25-550 .049 a/r housing, internal wastegate, and I think the current position it’s clocked in is about the only that will work. Thanks!

That drain is a no-go man.

it needs to be short, and only go down.

What he said. Hard to see exactly from that picture but looks like it comes down then goes back up a bit and loops around.

3rd. Your drain line runs up hill. That is a no go for turbos that are gravity drained.

Yeah, that 90* off the drain into that weird loop is super not good.

Example of a proper turbo drain:
