turbo question
i am not sure but is it safe to run 7 psi boost with my stock ratio pistons will i have any problems like blowing the rings or any thing
yes.
the generally accepted maximum boost level on a stock bottom end is ~15 psi.
k thanks i just wanted to clear the up couse one of my friends is pisst i got a turbo and trying to say u can blow your rings and crap with like 7 -10 psi with stock piston ratio and crap
since our compressrion ratio is a 9.5:1, you're fairly safe if you do things right.
wat would i have to do to play it safe
give it a good amount of fuel in boost; with the proper amount timing retard to control knock.
yes you will.. ill post pictures of my pistons later today... cracked the entire side of 3 and 4...
if your going to run 7psi make sure you at least have a dual feed rail and some larger injectors |
that's the whole "proper fueling and knock control" I'm talking about.
Get the air cold and get some fuel to it and you will be good to go. :bigtu:
were can i git a dual feed rail
make one but it is not neccesarry until 250 or better whp. i dunno why jason suggested it, bigger injectors or more FP will do you just fine read the friggin faq Newb it is all in there trust me. ;)
so preety much git more fuel and air and i should be safe
no becouse if you read the faq it would explain that with boost comes heat. you need WI or FMIC to controll this heat. If you dont then you will be knocking and destroy your motor. Read the faq it takes about 30-45 minutes/
i got every thing i need i got a fmu 12/1 - greddy fmic-fmic piping -5/16 oil return line taped - cold intake- greddy bov
sry 5/8 oil return line
Where is the bipes? FMIC is not as effective as WI and you will need a timming controller most likely or retarded base timming.
bipes?
