turbo questions

hi guys i'm kinda new here...i've been using a 1.6L 1993 eunos roadster for the past 4 years now. and am now planning to install a turbo. i'm a mechanical engineering student here in the philippines and i got a few questions for my future build. thanks in advance guys

1. how much boost can the stock 1.6L engine take without an engine management system? (with intercooler)

2. follow up to no.1, if i use bigger injectors like that from the mazda 626, will i be able to raise the boost level of my build? (or what injectors do you prefer?)

i plan to go up to the 200hp level at the end of this project with an aftermarket ECU. but since i dont have the full budget yet, i'm going to have to go with the stock ECU first. by the way, i also changed my stock afm with that from a 3s-gte engine. will post updates soon.thanks guys

You can either kill yourself on a live feed for us, search. We prefer the suicide option, but please start a poll there so we can vote on the method and the equipment.

:giggle: yep

ok....

1. not much. you need something to help with fuelling, AFPR is the most basic, so maybe 5-7psi on stock injectors.

2. yes. I currently prefer 320cc yellow top (or green top) injectors from the old non-turbo Supra. they should be enough for 200Bhp

Points to note: you need fuelling management, and engine timing management, or you will end up studying the effects of detonation on engine internals 1st hand.

search.... just like the X-Files.... the truth is out there.....
