if jb weld doesnt work try some more liquidy type epoxy or fiberglass resin

adbradley 12-30-2006 03:37 PM

jb weld has been applied, waiting for it to cure

adbradley 12-30-2006 04:01 PM

is a small amount of leak ok?

Jb weld will definitly hold if done probably currently holds A) a hole in a motorcycle block shut B) a hole in my oil pickup.

Do decent thickness multiple coats so you get good coverage (dont glob it on)

oh my god :gay:

This is such a redneck intercooler. Jbweld is great stuff mate.

adbradley 12-30-2006 05:27 PM

well im not counting on it for structural strength, just to plug up all the lil holes.. and it seems to work wonderfully for that!

And yes.. Redneck it is, :)

adbradley 12-30-2006 06:13 PM

leak tested and approved! It may be ugly, but it works. Now to finish my manifold

DSM intercooler ..FREE (got it with a turbo i got of fleabay)

2 inch 90 degree copper elbows ..FREE (friend thats a plumber)

Durafix Brazing rod $40

Half a new tank of propane to heat up the grill because i dont have a O/A torch ..$20 (had to get a new bottle, old one ran dry half way through)

JB Weld $5.99

I think i would have been better off buying one of those cheap fleabay intercoolers but o well.. it was a fun experiance

magnamx-5 12-31-2006 10:32 AM

it did dunno how though i can never edit my titles

m2cupcar 12-31-2006 10:33 AM

Wonder if it could be done a lot cheaper by using JB Weld only?
This project isn't really complete until you've sprayed all the JB Weld with "aluminum" spray paint.

magnamx-5 12-31-2006 10:34 AM

true

getsidewaysd1 12-31-2006 12:04 PM

Wow. Thats, uh, awesome.

akaryrye 12-31-2006 12:12 PM

so are you going under or over the radiator? (assuming over)

adbradley 12-31-2006 12:26 PM

spacing the radiator back and the intercooler is going in front of the radiator offset to the drivers side, and the pipes will come up over the radiator.

Yea the name changed a couple times... im not sure who did it or how.. wasnt me
