Default Upgrade My Turbo

Ok, I'm looking to upgrade my turbo system from my MHI T25. My power goal is about 250hp. I have a local seller here with a AiResearch T3 Super 60 with these specs: compressor is .60 and turbine is .48

I thought Garrett makes the T3 Super 60. But isn't AiResearch a division of Garrett or somehow related? Anyways, would this work for my power goals? I have a 1.6L, forgot to mention that.

One more thing, the intake and compressor outlet looks like its made for a nissan. Has the 2 flanges that you have to bolt on in order for the piping to connect.

It would be a lot easier to find another T25 based turbo to fit your existing hardware (mani and dp)

Considering he said MHI, I am assuming he is using a DSM style exhaust housing, therefore go with the DSM stage of upgrades.

A Small 16G should reach your goals.

I'm gonna have a new mani and dp built because i have one of those ebay manifolds. There is a small crack, but i'm just gonna run it until I build my new mani and dp. Wanna upgrade my turbo while i'm at it.

aireasearch is a division of garrett, their turbos are exactly the same.

Thats exactly what braineack is running, check out his dyno from the dyno day. Something like 230hp at 6k rpm at like 12psi where he had to let off. Tq was still climbing. He has some headwork and a 3 inch exhaust, but your results would be somewhat similar.

I thought his A/R was smaller. Something like .42 compressor and turbine is .48

Sounds good to me!! So the larger compressor A/R won't affect spool time? It would be the exhaust housing A/R that would right.....

You find them on fords. It's techincally the same turbo i have, however I have the non-ford compressor housing. Look at my gallery for all the dynos I've ever done. two years worth of upgrades. It can take you to around 300rwhp.

A/R on the compressor side makes no difference whatsoever.

Yeah!!! Thats what it looks like. I think i'm gonna buy it since i can get it for $300 brand new and it comes with the ATP internal wastegate adaptor and actuator. It sounds like a good deal and would satisfy my power goals.

Considering the turbos you buy are usually at least twice that, yeah it is a good deal.
