Using MAF Wires for EBC
I am Currently boosting my BP4W swapped 95 and am trying to figure out the best way to wire the MAC boost control solenoid. Obviously, I could just run wires or I have seen lots of people use the Evap solenoid connector since it also has 12v but that's on the opposite side of the engine bay. I have found a couple of people who have mentioned using one of the MAF wires for the switched ground and pulling the 12v from the diagnostics port or the blue connector over there.
So the question is is my MS2pnp setup for this, and I just have to change some settings in TS or move some jumpers and if so what wires would I use? Or could I still do this but I would just have to cut the wire at the ECU connector and wire it into the options port? |
Not sure I understand correctly. However, pin 7 of the options port on the opposite side of the mega squirt from the PNP connection is the boost control output. I have used many sources for the 12v + and currently I am using the cruise control 12v+. It's nice because the switch is handy on the fly, but beware I bumped it with my knee once or twice getting in the car.

Just run the wires!

EDIT : Just realized I didn't even read your original post.
This thread talks about setting up MAF on a MS2PNP https://stangnet.com/mustang-forums/...rt-pnp.915223/ It doesn't sound like it's natively supported but they talk about the wiring a bit there. Maybe not the most helpful, but on the SpeedyEFI boards they use the Evap Solenoid plug for EBC. You can get a pigtail so it's easily removable from the factory wiring. If the Megasquirt has the ability to run the Evap solenoid and you're not using it, you could probably use those outputs to run EBC without changing any wiring, just changing the EBC output pins in tuner studio. These are guesses though based on my experience using tuner studio with Speeduino. |

You could use any of the unused diag conn wires like FM does......TEN and +B
Does a 95 have that Diag box? |
Oh, I didn't even think about that, I do have a diagnostics box. Is there any documentation you could link on this? I can't for the life of me find threads doing any more than mentioning this is passing.

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to communicate when I posted about wiring in a MAF. I meant that if those guys are wiring the ECU to control the MAF, you should be able to do the same wiring (or similar) and tell the ECU that it's the EBC.

Am I missing something or does the MS2PNP not already have wiring for boost control tapped into the factory maf wire harness?
If it’s not already wired as such, just tap a wire into a 12v source from anywhere in the engine bay, grab a voltmeter and/or wiring diagram and find where one of the now-unused MAF wires goes to to ECU side of your factory wiring harness. Then wire the “boost” output wire from your MS2 into this wire. Splice the 12v and boost wires into your boost controller (polarity doesn’t matter) and you’re done. Although I’ve gotta imagine the MS2 boost control wiring has gotta be set up via the MAF connector already. Easy test: grab a 12v light, connect both wires to your unused MAF pins, go into Tunerstudio and open output test control, turn your “boost” output on. If the bulb lights up, you’ve found your wires to use. |
