Should I ARTech Top or side-mount?
* 91' 1.6 aiming for ~200-240hp
Ok guys so I am a few weeks away from FINALLY putting my order in with ARTech for a manifold/ DP. All I want is a fun street car. Are there any negatives to going with the side-mount? I am just looking for a little re-assurance before I drop $1000 on this stuff lol I am not looking to make crazy power, and I figure I will keep my A/c for the future wife so I won't be going with the bottom mount. Will the top-mount suffice my needs or should I do the side-mount? Also... I will be running a Tial EWG. I don't want to have to worry about boost creep.... Maybe it's over-kill, but for an extra couple hundred bucks it's worth the piece of mind to me.

I've had a greddy top mount and now my artech side mount. Definitely go with the side mount, purely because of the dp routing. It's super straight, and keeps a lot of heat out the engine bay, that would other wise be sitting in the bend by your throttle cable. It also makes intercooler routing easier, since it doesn't have to clear the "shelf", as it's already below it.

Yeah I made up my mind already lol... Going side mount and I'll be making some support braces to make sure it holds its strength. Another $300 I need to save and i'll be ordering

ok, so i'm thread jacking cuz i';m on the same exact boat...hope it goes somehwree!
so, anyways, i just spoke to the guy at artech, i didn't want to bother him too much but here is the question i had:
will the log style be good for how much HP?
this will be side mounted with an external wastegate just because
guy says it'll be at least 8 weeks before shipping it out which is fine with me as my project has been parked for 2 months now and im expecting to finish in about 1 years time.
thanks for the info guys
you guys rock.
