Using wrx 440cc injectors
6 Attachment(s)
Alright so if you're either A. Dumb and cheap like me or B. Want to try something different, you've probably heard of wrx injectors on a miata. I've searched long and far on info for these, the most I could find was a few questions and a build thread. So I decided I'd give my 0.02$.
So you will need 1. Wrx 440cc light blue injectors. They use the same denzo connector as a miata https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1458597030 You're only going to use the small top oring. Everything else can go 2. Five-0- Motorsports 12mm tophats. Got mine on Amazon for around 32$ https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1458597030 Yes 4 do come with it 3. The stock bottom seals will fit on the Subaru injectors https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1458597030 4. The hard plastic or hard rubber top seals from your stock injectors https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1458597030 So when I first got these I was confused because of how loose they were on the top of the injector. To get them to work you need to take the hard plastic top seal and push it into the top hat https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1458597030 Then push it over the top of the injector until it fits straight and true https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1458597030 Then add your bottom seals and top oring and you should be good to go. For those who wonder why it's worth the effort to use a stupid adapter is that I figured these are better spray pattern and atomization wise than the rx7 550cc and bigger and cheaper than 425cc rx8 injectors. So for 90$, paid 60 for the injectors and 30~ for the tophats I figured I've saved some cash. Hopefully this helps. Im curious to see how they on my car! :likecat: |
So now you have some junky injectors that should be cleaned for not much less than a set of rx8 injectors?

You used used injector seals, you'll die in fire or vac leaks soon enough.

I've seen people use these before at least a handful of times.
And I've seen some say the spray pattern is off due to different size or shape of nozzle or something. but if it works great, then not bad. But with flow forces being under 300, I really wouldn't consider this "cheap". You're just paying slightly less for an inferior product |
