Default V-Band Flanges for Tial housing

One of my friends has a GT2871R with tial V-band housing on the way.
Can one of you guys that have one of these let me know what size v-bands the inlet and outlet is?
Also, are all v-band flanges the same? In other words, will a 3" v-band flange from company X ti with a v-band flange from company y?

I have no clue what the size is, but not all v-bands are the same. There are a few different designs to them. Some use different style clamps, and a few even require a very thin gasket.

So if that's the case, do you need tial v-band flanges to fit the tial v-band turbo?

Yes, you need the tial specific vbands for the housing.

truth. The TiAL v-bands have a male/female version due to the groove...and worth the money.

Turbo Timmy used TiAL v-bands on my dp of course and I used v-band flanges from silicone intakes on the rest of the exhaust. All are sealed, but the TiAL flanges take a little more care to get lined-up, but fit right every time. Make sure you send the right flange of course, I believe the turbo is female on the inlet and the outlet.

Thanks hustler. I have been contact with Burns and Tial last week so getting verification on the Tial shouldn't be a problem. I will post upon verification...

The last 4 manifolds we built used that size. The inlet and outlet are the same size, but use different clamps and flanges. Those were for GT2860, GT2871, and GT30 turbos. I call Tial, tell them what I need, and they tell me what to order. I try to make it as dummy proof as possible.

When I order parts from TiAL, this is what I have to order:
VBF300M 3" Weld on Outlet Flange
VC355 3" Outlet Clamp
VC300 3" Inlet Clamp
GTVFL3.0 3" Weld On Inlet Flange

According to my price sheets, the GT28/30/35 turbos all use the above flanges and clamps. The GT42/45 turbos go up to a 4" clamp and flange.

Very true, but I am learning the "high road". If I fall off the wagon, I have to admit my sins, apologize for them, etc. Entirely too much trouble.

VBF300M is the inlet flange to the turbine. Outer diameter of the vband itself is 3.000 inch and uses that VC300 clamp for, yeah, a 3" outer diameter vband. ID is around 2-2.125, it's conical. The turbine outlet flange is that GTVFL3.0, which is for a 3" pipe. The outer diameter I do not know for sure, but I will assume it's...3.550". I'll let you guess where I figured that info from I'll guess the ID is 2.910. They ain't the same size. BURNZZZZZ!

EDIT #8: You guys made 4 vband mani's so far? Damn I better step my game up.

I stand corrected. I never measured but the outlet parts sure look bigger than the inlet.

I could very well be wrong. I copy and paste info from Tial price sheets.

I will see what I can do...

Edit: E-mail sent... I will post when I hear back. No go on that schematic. Just told me the flanges for the turbine housing were identical except it was the female rather than the male. I tried...

turbine inlet and turbine outlet flanges are not the same. Not even close. Sorta like saying BEGI's 3" downpipe is 3". OHH DAYUMM BBUUURNNNZZZZZEZEZZZZZZ! hehehe just bustin ***** steph

Each corresponding pair of flanges are the same obviously, one having a male lip and the other a female counterbore. The female end of each flange is part of the turbine housing.
