Vacuum lines connections
Hi, Im in the process of installing my turbo and have a couple questions.
I use MSPNP. First, the MS vacuum line is connected to the cruise control vacuum. Now, I also have a BOV and my boost gauge. They need a vacuum fitting. Should I just tap the intake and add 2 more fittings for each one or just connect MS, BOV and boost gauge to the cruise control niple? Are there any other sources from which I could use a T fitting to connect the BOV and gauge? Thanks |
The best place for you to tap into your intake manifold for the MSPNP will be in the middle. The cruise port is noisy and can cause problems in your tuning. You can cut the line going to the fuel pressure regulator and T off of it for the MSPNP. Then you could T off of the cruise port for the BOV and Boost gauge.
What would be a great solid solution would be to add a vacuum manifold to the brake booster line. It would give you a great signal for all three items, or just the Boost gauge and MSPNP. Then tap the cruise port for the BOV. If you're using a Tial BOV the cruise port will be too small. You can get a vac manifold here: http://tunertoys.zoovy.com/c=pTlqE42...s_Edition.html Or go to homedepot and make your own. I tapped my manifold for two extra ports and am only using one. |
Ditto on the manifold. TunerToyz one is pimp, but I'm ghetto and use one from McMaster Carr. Part #5469K121, $13.87 and it is black anodized aluminum.

I've been using it for over a year with no problems. I'm not sure why they say it wont work for vacuum since as long as it is leak free it should work fine.

We sell a signal source fitting that goes into the brake booster line. It can accomodate up to three vacuum signals needed. It is $22.50, and includes the hose clamps needed for installation.

We are working on it! It should be done around the end of January. And contain tons of little items. :)
