Value of used MSM turbo exhaust manifold and turbo?

I have a used 2004 MSM turbo manifold and turbo with about 30K miles on them. The turbo is in good used condition with no signs of damage/shaft play/spins nicely. Before I list them in the classifieds or on ebay, I'd like to have some idea of the value and was hoping you turbo folks could help me out. Any thoughts of a ballpark? Do people need these to do self made turbo setups?

Thanks,
Justin Wade

No one wants that crap. You should sell it to me for 50 bucks.

Since this is not in the classified section:

Those parts aren't worth much because both are huge pieces of shit and the only people who will buy them are the people too retarded to buy a manifold from BEGi or FM.

:brain:

I can't decide if this is sarcasm or not;)

I just want to know a fair price. I know these don't grow on trees, but I also know that quality aftermarket alternatives are available.

So any actual numbers or examples of other sales would be helpful.

Justin Wade

It's not sarcasm. The stock MSM turbo hardware REALLY sucks.

Indeed. The MSM turbo/manifold combination are pretty well known to be near the bottom of the performance envelope amongst the high-power Miata crowd. So the likelihood of selling them for a reasonable price here is, unfortunately, quite low.

Aside from eBay, one avenue which you might consider pursuing are the owners of Miata-based Westfield Sevens. Flyin' Miata is the US representative for these cars, and during their own build, they determined that due to the unique packaging restraints in that vehicle, the MSM turbo and manifold package is just about the only forced-induction system that will fit nicely into it. Coupled with the fact that the power requirements for one of these cars tend to be rather more modest than for a full-bodied Miata, I'd look in that direction.

That sir was very helpful. Thanks a bunch.

I think ebay might be the place. I'll let the great unwashed masses at it.

Justin

I was more interested in the turbo.....

also there is not a nifty 'let me search the completed listings on ebay for you' website.

dustinb 02-08-2011 09:18 PM

Realistically you could probably get $300 for it.

I have always wished there was a sight that allowed searching old eBay listings. It would be incredibly helpful. I'd even pay a few bucks for the service.

I'm getting used to the tenor of this sight. You guys are feisty. Your list of emoticons as default are telling:loser::fawk::jerkit::vash: I like it.

You can, top gear top tip: search ebay for what your looking for/looking to sell and then on the left hand side look for the check box that says 'completed listings'. Its also an advanced search option :bigtu:

Hey there Mr. Soze. I've got this red bump on my dong, what do you think it is?

Small f'in' miata world. I had kinda thought I might use the cash money for a fancy dinner at Paley's Place next time we are in Portland. But here you go ruining the surprise.

And it doesn't look like the block is worth too much so it might only pay for the foie gras.

Aren't you already running a Flyin' miata exhaust manifold?

I can't even find anonymity on the internet,
Justin:bang:

Got mine for $300. People saying they're worthless need to stop being ******s. MSM people have made mid-200s whp with this setup. It's not good, but it fucking works and its cheap as shit. And it bolts up to NB exhaust piping with no modifications, making it fast and cheap with no hassles.
