personally what i dont like is how your oil and coolant lines gets pinched between the turbo and the sheet metal of the car. Do you see what i'm talking about on ur first pic of ur last post? i'd turn those a bit, at least turn the lower one so its out of the way.

push on rubber for oil feed line? Did you install that right? I could have sworn begi used a ss braided feed line.

If the mani is being that much of a berk then i would take that bugger to a exhaust shop and get it on the lift and from there it will be alot easier to deal with. The boost gauge is simple the red wire is hot and the white wire is ground, and from there you should have a vaccumm nipple or something of a sort to get your vac/boost signal from. If you do any more drives before the car is fully sorted plz for the love of your engine be carefull, and keep your ears open for detonation it is improbable to happen but still quite possible. :D

You might just get one of these for your exhaust problem:

And again, the aluminum air conditioner pipe next to it needs to be protected from heat as well or you will likely have a failure. |
Thanks for the heads up there guys, ill definatly get those lines insulated and protected better.
As for the exhaust its not the down pipe anymore its the manifold itself, it was such a tight fit i realy had to struggle to get it on and even then it wasnt realy sitting right. my plan is to take it off and widen the holes and hope it will then slip straight on. A real pain as i will have to remove all the piping and the turbo, not please about that, id expect the quality be alot better for what i paid for it all. |
how is the manifold not sitting right? you are talking about the turbo to manifold joint or the manifold to head?

did you make sure the tab on the heater tube isn't under your manifold? it's pretty easy to do

That's why I rerouted and eliminated that hard pipe. It makes taking off/on the manifold so much easier without it there.

bet it overboosts like fook! mine did 10+psi without even getting to full throttle!(but my exhaust is minimal factor?) you should be ok with the washer bottle lines etc. as ambient lower. intercooler ftw with our lower ambient temps and allegedly higher octane fuel I'm gonna try an get away without retarding the timing at 6psi(but fully expect a blown engine) |
