Water line newb question
When using stainless steel lines for the water lines, how do you attach the screw-on type fitting of the stainless line to the waterpump/thermostat slip-on type fitting?
Does the stock slip-on fitting at the waterpump/thermostat unscrew out? Thanks http://www.ziptied.com/Coppermine/al...ines-miata.gif |
The steel OEM nipples are pressed into the castings. The won't come out easily. The way to do it is to buy a fitting with a hose barb on one end and an A/N fitting on the other.
Splice it into the rubber hose where it is convenient and away from the heat. From that point use your braided line to the turbo. KMag |
I used hydraulic line to a banjo fitting with a hose barb at the turbo. Line size was different.
Just put together a fitting that has hosebarbs on either side that steps down from the hose size at the turbo to the OEM fittings. All you need is a coupler and two hose bards, for each line. |
or dont even bother with the bling, use rubber hoses and wrap em in fiberglass weave.

Yah, I don't care about bling...just longevity. Links to fiberglass weave? Didn't find anything when searching.
