Default so i have a bigger turbine housing, more power?

So i have a t25 from a 300zx twin turbo, really small, .48/.49 comp/turbine. I also have a .64ar turbine housing that i was to put onto the turbo. I have done research on the garett turbo site and am fairly sure that a larger turbine housing with same wheel will produce a higher flow with slightly lower spool(shouldnt be an issue with this turbo.) i just want to know if this is true. Thanks

heres a chart using identical wheels but different turbine housings.(not my turbo just example).

You'll lose a small amount of spool and response and pick up a small amount of mid and high-end torque and power.

thats what i was thinking... i know this is sort of a band aid untill i can get new turbo like a 2560 or so.

So i tried this experiment and was wrong. I put the .64 housing on and i couldnt get over 8psi even with wastegate vacume disconected. The only reason i can think for this is on the .64 housing it says M3, and on the .49 housing it says M4. I m thinking differnt wheel design.

was it the correct housing for that wheel? I mean were the clearances correct?
You didnt put a stage 3 turbine housing on a stage 1 wheel right??

im really not sure im thinking that it must not have been the correct wheel/housing combo. This housing was from a r20det t28 .64ar and my wheel was a t25. I couldnt find any info on this subject. nothing hit when i installed it and it spun freely. I just used some trial and error and came out with error hhaa

A T28 wheel is 53.8mm whereas a T25 wheel is 53.0mm diameter. So that means you had an extra little bit of gap all around the wheel. Of course it will spin freely in the housing because it's too small, which allows more gas to bypass the wheel instead of spinning it up.

If you want a cheap 2560 look for used Nissan S15 turbos. Basically the same thing. People often sell them when upgrading to bigger snails and I typically see them go for under $400 used.
