What can I do with a Garrett TB0313

I have a Garrett/AI TB0313, believed to be from a Volvo. Web info says turbine a/r .48 and compressor a/r .42. Looks like a fine T3 for quick spool and 240 hp. I'm looking for 325 whp. Do I have any compressor swap options available to me to support my goals with this turbine? Thanks

just set it up like what scott has, his new results are very promising. With some motor work like you plan to have done, and your uber 1337 99 head, ANDDD like 20psi I could see you making some sweet power.

you could try swapping a super60 compressor, Or go for a T4 compressor.

Yeah, thanks, I guess more specifically: Do I have to worry about incompatibilities, or can I pretty much just pick any other garrett compressor housing and rock with it? If so, suggestions are appreciated. Putting together turbos is still mysterious to me. :)

to4e compressor housing and wheel. should be good for 300 or so... my understanding is that anything over 300 wHP it's usually best to go with a .63 turbine.

Thanks man, that helps. I'll research more, this turbine may be a little small for my goals. This cou.d be a perfect turbo for someone else so I might rebuild it for the learning experience, then sell it.

i see you figured out the mystry turbo, lol

Ben 11-11-2007 09:52 PM

yeah, well the id tag under the grease was a big clue

Splitime 11-12-2007 07:23 AM

rebuild it with the t4 coldside I have :p

cool. it's essentially bolt-on? hook it up yo.

Please do. So i can decide if I want to use my T04 "v" compressor or my T3 60 trim.

yeah. basically remove the housing, pop off the wheel, unbolt the backing plate. reverse order with t4 parts.

the only thing you need to watch out for is the type of compressor side seal it has. the t3/t4s had a few different designs. if worse comes to worse you can mill the backing plate out a tad to accept the larger exducer.

the t04e 46 trim would be a perfect wheel for you.
