Was thinking of picking it up.

What would you pay for this?

Is that good or bad? Don't know much about IMs.

inferno94 03-15-2011 06:33 PM

Building a 9000rpm motor? I wouldn't buy it.

MazDilla 03-15-2011 06:37 PM

Tunable runners! ...just swap in different lengths of hose. :)

Seriously though, I would stay away from that thing. Silicone couplers post throttle plate are not a good idea, especially hanging the plenum off couplers like that.

Why not?

viperormiata 03-15-2011 07:12 PM

More importantly, what does the inside look like?

Gotpsi? 03-15-2011 07:21 PM

It looks scary to be honest, how much are they asking? you might be able to use part of it. What does the inside look like? velocity stacks?

Short runners -> power shifts to the right.
I guess you can just get longer silicone couplers, but as already said: I'd be really uncomfortable adding that many failure points to the manifold.

I'd get it if it was basically free, then pay Gotpsi? to weld some proper runners on there.. Otherwise, pass.

astroboy 03-15-2011 07:50 PM

I think if you can get it and make the runners solid and the price is low then it may be worth it. The pics make it look like the inside of the runners change size a few times (inside the plenum to the couplers then to the black plastic and maybe again going into the part that bolts to the head) which would be a pain in the ass to fix.

Haha thats what I was getting at!

That manifold is a Boig Motorsports DCOE and is baller - I'd hit it for sure. The plenum though is way bleh. I'd say $200, and thats just because of the BM manifold, I'd can the rest.

Faeflora 03-15-2011 08:01 PM

That looks like it comes with vacuum leaks as a feature.

I would buy it though, just to do R&D on runner length.

$150.

kenzo42 03-15-2011 08:25 PM

He's selling it for $80.

Faeflora 03-15-2011 08:42 PM

I'll buy it from you for $100. Seriously, I wouldn't run that expecting it to not leak but it would be fun on the dyno.

18psi 03-15-2011 09:14 PM

for 80 I'd get it.
if for no better reason than to mess around with it like faeflora said

Stealth97 03-15-2011 09:22 PM

Get it. That Boig manifold is worth $200 easily - its the perfect base for an ITB setup.

Faeflora 03-15-2011 10:00 PM

Look i am serious about the r&d. we have a dyno day coming up and the shop owner races. he would be gald to test this thi ng out with various lrngths for his own purposes. this would benefit the miata turbo cummunty too. so gimme that shit. will return when done if you want.

slorry i am typing with one hand. pettin mah kitty wi other
