What downpipe flange is this?

Shall have designed a Downpipe for my Garrett (T25 .48?) But which flange is this?
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1328645131 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1328645131 Almost every T25 i've seen have a flange like this, why is my different and is it better or worse? https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1328645131 ;) |
Well there is no picture so I can't tell you exactly what it is, but more then likely you bought a T25 with a mitsubishi flange on it. Most T25 setups are designed around the flange used by Nissan. Personally I would get a new turbo.

Picture should work now.

Looks kind of like the old cosworth t3 output flanges.
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1328648685 Design is arguably better than a 'standard' t25 as the wastegate outlet angle is better. You'll essentially use a 3 bolt 'floating' flange that will sit over the end of a swaged out 'socket' type joint on the downpipe inlet. Bolting it down will compress it for a leak free seal without a gasket. You can get the 'socket' from mandrel-bends.com. Check their 'socket joint' section. You could probably also get away with a transition cone, but I'm not positive. |
Tell us more about that cast exhaust manifold.

I bet money it's the HKS B6 manifold.
Been looking for one for a long time.... |
There is no way that that manifold is attached to a miata.

I do not really know much about either manifold or turbo as I bought the kit as it is here - seller stated that it was bought for his now sold NA 1.6. I am myself quite new to this turbo world, and this is my first turbo build. Appreciate all help. :bigtu: |

Post pictures of the manifold. I'm sure it's a HKS 1.6 turbo manifold.
Looks like this, right? https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1328768851 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1328768851 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1328768851 |
That appears to be a 3 bolt flange from a Saab. You can also get tdo4's off newer Saab's with a t25 inlet and that same 3 bolt outlet.

Oh i see. Then I misunderstood you :giggle:
No it is not fitted yet because I just bought it 1 week ago, thats why I signed for this forum to get some good advice, tips and tricks. This is my first turbo build, so its great with a forum like this, have already learned a lot just by reading around the different threads. :ugh2: |

Sorry to resurrect a old thread
I have the exact same kit. But am installing it on a 1.8 with a appropriate manifold of course. Did it ever get sorted on what that flange was? BTW I am selling the 1.6 manifold. The manifold pictured came with the "kit"
