What is this item
94R with Miata link control. About 6" before my throttle body where the induction tube rises from my intercooler there is a "Y" takeoff about 3/4" in diameter. In that takeoff there is a small thing that looks like a little circuit board - maybe 2" long x 5/8" wide. It seems like it is intended to be there and as it mounts nicely in the take off tube. The end of this little circuit board intrudes slightly into the main pressurized tube that goes from the intercooler to the throttle body.
Anybody know what this is? |

Thanks guys, yes that's it. I upgraded radiator and found that I broke one of the wires during reassembly. Link seemed to be going into some kind of safety mode with intermittent loss of power (1 second on / 1 second off) at 1/2 throttle over 3000 rpm. Fixed wire and all OK.

If anyone wnats to know why the LINK is stupid...
|
It does seem the Link system does not get much respect on this forum. I'm not all that familiar with aftermarket control systems - I'm more of a suspension/driveline guy. What are the general shortcomings, and what are better systems. Looking to rebuild my engine this winter and would probably add a better control system if cost is reasonable.
And why did the mention of the intake temp sensor evoke such distain. Is that a poor or limited element of the system? |

I guess that says it all - when the time comes I'll search this forum - I'm sure there are dozens of discussions and many opinions regarding the best system.
