What should I do? (Manifold question)
 

Let me preface this with I already know I'm an idiot newb that should go just off of the tallest building I can find. With that out of the way any advice I can get is very much appreciated.

I was hoping to do my install this weekend but it's not looking like that is going to happen. I picked up a modified greddy kit from a friend, and after doing all of my reading I decided to take the manifold studs off and put the FM Stage 8 kit on since it looked to be the best best for now and wasn't crazy expensive.

The kit came with an ETD greddy replacement manifold. As I went to take the studs out three of them sheared with some of the bolt sticking out of the manifold. I took a torch to them and got the studs out only to see that they also sheared inside the manifold and need to be drilled out. I also noticed the the manifold looks like it was already redrilled for 10mm

Then I also saw a small crack where the manifold had already been fixed.

Should I even bother fixing this thing or should I just scrap it and get a new manifold? I plan on taking it to a local machine shop after x-mas to see what they say.

Depends on what you want to spend. That ETD piece isn't bad, so if you're tight on funds you can always drill/helicoil and fix the manifold. Obviously the easier solution is going to be replace the manifold, but busted hardware isn't necessarily a death wish.

and machine shops can fix all sorts of stuff that would leave the common man stumped. End of game disasters to you and me are a 5 minute fix for them. Have them take a look before you throw in the towel

Holy shit... I've basically been gone from the forum for the past 4 months and the NOOBs are finally figuing it out. All those years of hard work and all it took was for me to go on cruise... go figure.

Sav is quite right, it is an easy job for some folks. 30 years ago it would have caused me severe heart burn, today, we can fix it in 15 minutes.

It is not quite so much skill, as having a nice collections of machines.

We can also upgrade it to 10 mm studs.

Should I just send it to you Corky? I'd rather pay you than some local shop I don't know, and I know that if there is anyone that can tell me whether it's worth keeping it would be you.

Send it to Corky. You will know quickly if it is worth fixing. (It probably is.) He won't steer you wrong.

Have it fixed. If it is done correctly there should be nothing to worry about.
