Where to get a stainless header flange???

Hey Everyone,

Where can I get a quality stainless header flange for a 1.8?

Thanks in advance,
Frank

Check out weirtech on Honda Tech. He makes them but they are pricey. IIRC, they are three times the cost of mild steel. I used mild steel with stainless weld els with 309L TIG filler rod. No problems and the flanges are $22 and $12.

TurboTim

Straight Line Specialties

Probably Bell Engineering (they make S/S manifolds).

Good call Joe. I didn't know that SLS made them in Stainless and that Tim sold components.

Frank, are u guys planning on making a kit for the 1.8 or is it for a customer?

Joe Perez 09-01-2009 12:07 PM

Stein, I could be wrong, but I think SLS only does the fancy one in stainless.

As for Tim, I don't think he normally ships parts, but I suspect he'd sell one if you asked for it. Or at least know where to get 'em.

I used to buy them from Aaron at Weir for $100 + ~$10 shipping. Now I get them waterjetted locally. I don't see a problem reselling them, hit me up on a PM.

Side note, I would have assumed AMS would have access to their own waterjet or plasma cutter job shop that'd do one cheap.

Tim,

While we definitely have access to all that you mention, I'd have to pay one of my engineers to draw it up in cad after hours, and then have a one off water jet piece, which all together would cost around $100.00. All that for one flange. So i'm better off spending money with someone that has runs of these made as their cost would be lower.
