Wonder how long will ceramic coating last?

Are there any dif. bet. BEGIs silver ceramic coats and Fms flat black coats?
How long will each last?

It should hold up well if done by any reputable coater. For anyone who has a spare oven for garage duty only, this stuff sprays easy with an airbrush.
Columbia Coatings :: Chrome Ceramic Paint

I never had good luck getting it to stick well to pipe but I may have been doing something wrong. It held up great on cast manifolds and turnbine housings though.

FM has actually changed coatings. Mine were coated in the new stuff, pictured below, and they seem to be hanging in there just fine.

Were the pipes roughed up a bit, or left smooth? Maybe it has to do with the cast parts being so rough and porous (sp?). I've seen a lot of people running ceramic parts where the ceramic has burned off and left the manifold plain old brown like an uncoated one. I'm not so sure I'm even going to worry about the extra costs involved to have it done when the time comes. If it will burn off in a year or two anyway, no point. Throw a blanket on the bitch and go (thats also my motto for bitches and hoes).

Is that ceramic or is it hi temp paint? Looks like paint to me.

Ceramic coating, if applied properly, should last a very long time. The color of the coating is irrelevant.

It is definitely ceramic. Applied at the same shop that does our powder coating. Shit's not cheap.

I ceramic coated the turbine housing on my Gti and run a blanket. I can touch the blanket when the car has just made a pull on the dyno. The coating has held up awesome for almost a year. I do think its money well spent.
Also, I do think some of the coatings will take higher temps than others. Here is the list from the coater in Washington that we use. The chrome is apparently not as durable.
