how do i get my pipe to fit the coldside of the turbo? some sort of a funky/custom flange on the end of an aluminum pipe?

You need what is called a J-pipe.

You can get them from a stock 1gen DSM off a 14B or get the upgraded one from a company such as Road race.

A standard two bolt exhaust flange of correct size might mate to that so you could weld a pipe to it for a relatively cheap DIY fix.

2 bolt off of the stock miata exhaust? because those holes are pretty close together

here I believe the TDO5H gasket on this page will work if you want to weld a pipe off it.
