any turbo can be made to fit - some are easier than others.

For a '99 it'll be best to do piggyback and bigger injectors because of the returnless fuel system.
I assume you know that you'll need a custom manifold, downpipe, and intercooler piping to fit that turbo. |
Is it even worth getting a custom flange installed for that turbo?
|
I'll bet the OP doesn't realize he needs a manifold to add a turbo. Doesn't sound like it.
Jobambo, It's worth it if you already have the turbo cheap and are doing a JGS manifold or building a DIY manifold. WRX turbos are cheap. STI turbos aren't that expensive either. Around $400 and 16Gish in size. Frank |

okie So if i want to boost it around 6 psi. What are the parts do i need?
can someone make a list for me? " sorry im really noob to turbo stuffs ". this is the first car i decided to add on turbo :) |
|
turbo, manifold, downpipe, charge pipe (can usually use stock x-over pipe if not using intercooler kit) piggy back ECU, injectors, water lines, oil lines, heat protective material, bov, boost gauge, possibly fuel pump, any other guages and mounting devices you might see fit, clutch. I could get into the nit-picky things like hardware, clamps, silicone couplers, etc, but I won't right now, this'll give you a good enough basic idea. but don't ignore that stuff when considering a turbo build, that hardware/small stuff can up the price anywhere from $50-$200.
getting the turbo was a decent start, but its only about $300 of around the$1000-2000 you'd have to spend on the whole system. |
damn alll those parts gonna take a while for me to get it lol.
im wondering what i can do with $1500 i have on hand and the turbo above lol |

The guy who's car I was driving, made a custom flange to match the turbo, then picked up one of the ETD manifolds with that flange welded on.... Seems to be holding up OK when it was installed on the 1.6, or the 1.8.....

if you have to ask how to make the turbo fit I suggest reading some FAQ's and looking at a kit. Or talking to someone that has a turbo before trying to turbo your car
|
