Yet another honda question...

Okay, so my best buddy has a H-22 turbo hatchback civic, we bolted on his turbo kit and took out the wastegate spring before driving 100 some odd miles to get it tuned. It boosted absolutely 0 psi the whole way up. We got it here and got it tuned by SQ_Creations where it tuned and ran fucking great.

We then took it to the strip that night and ran a few passes, where the car started sputtering in and out of boost on the third and fourth runs. After all these problems we decided againsed running it any more runs and waited out the night. When we finnaly left we started up the car and all kinds of smoke started pouring out. We thought it was burning off the headers so we kept going until we realized it was something much more than that. We promptly stopped at a gas station and found there was ALOT of smoke pouring out the the valve cover and limped it home.

We got it home to inspect it and were assuming its rings on the piston, and we still need to get a compression check done. You guys have helped me a ton on this forum, and id just like to get a quick opinion.

His pcv valve rattles when shaken and you can blow through it, but im not sure if this is the norm.

Thanks a ton

Nate.

blowing through pcv is not the norm.

yea, you started boosting the crankcase.

Wow, something just clicked. So after we got the car home we realized one injector clip had come undone.... most likely it leaned out the cyclender and bam, theres the problem?

Any more suggestions?

Im thinking new forged pistons are in order.

no fuel = no boom = not a dead piston. you can't pre-ignite with nothing to burn.

replace the pcv valve with one more boost tolerant and try again.
