Nice! What's the rest of your system? Do you have your a/f log?

What controls boost? Chart gets pretty erratic, even with a lot of smoothing.

The car is a 1990 with an ACT extreme clutch, and 1.8 diff with RX-7 LSD. I'm running an Ebay intercooler with a 2.5x19x10 core, I think. I've got a DIY dual feed rail, RC550 injectors, an external gate, DIY 2.5-inch exhaust with the wastegate plumbed back into the exhuast about 25 inches downstream.
.

I have the AEM controling the boost. I had problems with the boost control on the dyno that I've now worked out. Now that it's got a steady 15psi of boost, I'd guess I'm making about 250whp.

Here are the AFR and boost logs. The wideband and the map sensor on the dyno didn't jive with my datalogs. Where the dyno showed an AFR of 12.5, my wideband read 11.5.
Also, that 16 psi spike was a 14psi spike on my datlogs.
The owner of the shop told me that the wideband on the dyno always reads lean and that the boost readings were also a little off.

FWIW, this is my third DIY turbo Miata and 250whp ain't shi* anymore...it's starting to feel SLOW. I NEED another 75whp or so more. Only problem is that it'll cost 4K to do it right (GT3071, rods, pistons, etc.), which ain't happening. I wonder how long my internally stock engine would last with a GT3271 @15psi?

Not too long, hehe. That would be around 300whp, with perfect tuning might last a bit but if you beat on it, good luck.

I am going to dyno next week with magna so I can tell you more about how much power the GT3271 is capable of after that dyno. I am going to run a maximum of about 16-17psi. I am still on a stock computer but have been running this same setup for years with great success. I am curious to find out how much power I can make with the stock computer in place. 250whp isnt slow but it can feel that way after you get used to having more.

You should be able to hit 300 whp on pump gas with water injection with ease. Whats your total timing at peak boost?

ill be running 110octane fuel since its available at the pump here. I am going to only retard 4* from the stock 10btdc. I think Ill be right around 300whp on 16-17psi.

sweet, looks like good power, but It's annoying your boost dropped. I might get a dyno of my setup which is almost the same but with a 1.6 if we ever have a dyno day round here. I'll probably just take it to the 1/8th instead.

Al,
How's your experience been with the Megasquirt?
I used MSnSE on my Miata for about a month... Pretty impresive for the price.

I really like it so far. Ironing out the problems at first was a total bitch, but for the past 1000 or so miles, its been great.

Just wondering, why did you switch?
