350hp B6

This engine and dyno sheet is from a customers' '90 NA. The engine is a Familia bottom end bored 4.5mm over with Arias 4AG pistons, HKS 264 cams, HKS head gasket, etc. 62 trim T28 turbo with .86ar exhaust and external wastegate. Half sheetmetal intake with SR20 60mm throttle body. Clutch is an OS twin with custom discs splined for the FD3S transmission input (It broke two OS Giken close ratio gear sets). Engine management is SDS with 700cc Denso injectors.

The engine/trans is now out and on the floor after 3 years of daily beating. It's currently undergoing an SR20DET swap that will run around 500hp.

Nice numbers from a 1.6 (or should I say 1.7) ! :bigtu:

Any more details on the intake manifold?

Also wondering if you had comparisons of before after cams to see how much of a difference they really make on a boosted motor?

Could use an engine bay cleaning if you ask me. Props on some mad power.

When that pic was taken, it had several years on the engine as a daily driver; hard to keep something like that clean. The owner doesn't really care what it looks like as long as it's fast and reliable. Also, it's hard to keep things simple when you have all of the factory stuff like PS and AC working. It now has a Koyo aluminum radiator, custom aluminum shroud with twin fans, etc. It looks a lot nicer.

The gauges are going away with the SR20 swap. It's getting a 20 channel touch screen datalogger.

The intake uses ported stock shortened runners with velocity stacks welded on. The plenum is 1.5 times engine volume. It uses a custom idle up circuit, so the BAC valve and other stuff is gone. Cams make a huge difference on a boosted motor. At 1.5 bar you're putting in more than one additional atmosphere, even after all efficiencies have been accounted for. A 10% VE gain on an NA motor is worth 20% more air on a boosted motor taking in an additional atmosphere. Basically, the power gain would be double that of an NA. In big power turbo engines I use 300+ degrees of duration. RB26's use the HKS step pro V cams at 304-312 degrees, intake and exhaust. Here's a Toyota 4AG running 304 degrees in the intake and exhaust that currently makes over 500whp from the 1.6 liter. Will daily drove it, but it was extremely angry.:vash:
