I'm agreeing with Brain. I'm not sure on my DD car I want to start pushing limits. Don't need 260hp. Not yet anyway!

I'm not sure what the whtq tranny threshold is, but we totally ate 2nd gear in mine earlier this year. It exploded on the AutoX course while on a steady accell pull in 2nd. 232wtq and sticky tires will do it for sure.

Old thread shmold thread. I'm always happy to talk about my car!

That fat middle makes me smile still! I'm still set up to overboost to 12psi early and backing off to 10psi over 5500. The car feels more like a big motor than a turbo. Spools pretty good for the potato.

It's amazing how much smoother the power comes on than in the 02 Saab Viggen I had before this. That car felt like the classic laggy cars of old. Nothing, nothing, nothing, HOLY CRAP!

Adding Haltech changed that...after a 4-month install.
I looked kind of like this:

WOW! That is a horrifying dyno plot. Ouch. VW's are cool but crap. Sad how they have become so unreliable over the last 25 years.

I'm going to resurrect this thread yet again. Where'd you go cueball? And how much was that base hookup and run price? I haven't dyno'd mine yet. I'm a little scared its going to be about 150hp or something depressing like that.

Curly,

I went to Fast Specialties in Vancouver WA. They had a Mustang dyno. The tuner has worked some with Megasquirt. Was the only guy I could find in our area with MS experience. They are primarily a Ford shop but they work on all sorts of stuff. The hookup and 3 pulls was around $100.

They put mine up, made the 3 pulls, played with the tuning for another 1/2 hour and only charged me for the basic 3 pulls. They didn't change much and thought I was putting out as much power on the stock motor and pump gas as they were comfortable with.

I talked with most of the Dyno's around here. I'm not sure if Fast was the best but they were pretty realistic, not snobby, not ricey and had some fun cars around. One outfit openly scoffed at the MS. Thought it sucked and said so. Gee, suprised they didn't get my business?!? Douchebag Suburu shop.

I apologize in advance for necro-posting, but I'm doing some research and this dyno plot is fantastic, and have the same question as Jason: what ar?
