223 HP, 205 lbft torque

1999 BP4W stock, 140k miles
5 speed transmission + 4.3 LSD
Garrett GT2554R
Kraken manifold + full 3 inch exhaust with cat, resonator and big "MT.net Magnaflow" 12578
FM Intercooler and silicone piping
ID 725cc injectors
DW 100 fuel pump
GM LS coils
MS3 Basic

Running a 7 psi wastegate spring with closed loop EBC. Peak boost was around 10 psi.

It's not huge power, but the car is a lot of fun now.

Thanks! Really appreciated the informative posts from you and other members here that helped me put this car together correctly.

Ya, that car probably really scoots now.

Very nice results and torque plateau.

Could go to 250whp with a few more psi without taking serious risks, i think

Have you pulled the butterfly plates out of the IM? I agree, nice #'s! That torque curve is nice and flat. I will be changing out my JDM 1.6 for a '99 BP4W in future, with similar turbo bits, so encouraging post for me to see!

Thanks! I didn't want to push the torque much farther and risk breaking my 5 speed. I'll likely pick up a 6 speed and a 3.63 diff just to have more of a safety margin.

I didn't modify the intake manifold at all. Good luck with your swap! How come you opted for the BP4W rather than a VVT engine?

The wiring harness for my 99 NB6 will work with the BP4W ( cam pos. and crank pos.) without any messing with, and as I have a Megasquirt2 I don't think I can control the VVT function. (I could easily be wrong on that, but from my reading so far, think I need the MSM3 to do VVT). Seems like each, BP4W and BP6D have pros and cons, as far as port angle, etc. with the outcome being a wash between the two heads potential in stock form, decided to look for a '99-00 engine. Yossi just emailed with a 63K running engine that I thought was a great deal. My present NB6 runs great, and made 186HP on a Mustang, so I could be smart, and leave well enough alone, but what fun is that?

Glad they were helpful. Its always a pleasure seeing a nice broad torque curve
