Default Another boring built motor 2871

Build: 84mm 8.6 ST's, eagle rods, ACL bearings, BE S2 pump, 949 damper, ID1K's, DW200 pump, blah blah blah.
NB1 block with NB2 head with volvo springs. Squaretop intake.

Made about 310rwhp/275rwtq on a mustang dyno at ~23psi.
Goal is to hit 330-350 on this dyno in the spring/summer next year.

Looks good, I would have expected more power @23psi but it is a mustang dyno. Im sure your around 350 on a Dynojet. Spoolup looks really good too, well done.

That was the last set of runs in VD that I did in the fall.

This dyno was just to get a ball park of where I ended up on a real dyno. I might run the same logs through the mustang setting on VD to see how that would show up there.

Had issues with tires slipping so I had to go sit in the trunk lol. I also changed the BOV and MAP sensor before the pulls and didn't make any changes after the fact. That probably affected boost control a bit. Mostly it looks like ebc was oscillating which I didn't see on the street runs in the fall.

Vtechkiller still thinks I have a leak somewhere. Oh and I also have a sport cat because an exhaust shop used my cat delete when it made something.

But yeah, the boost control is sloppy and it makes things look gross. I'll post logs later...
Oh also not sure what the dyno operator used for smoothing.

This is the same VD run above with the mustang dyno option. It's pretty spot on to the corrected numbers which were about 298 or so afaik.

The VD numbers are really close thats actually really impressive. I still would have thought it would make more power than it did but we all know every dyno is different and its not all about numbers. If you had a leak somewhere you would be spooling really slowly and it would also likely lose power up top where the compressor would be struggling. Im sure the car pulls like a freight train anyways at the power its got in it now. 300+ is no joke in a Miata.

Also still running a sport cat.

I'm pretty happy. Looking forward to getting back there in the spring /summer after dialing things in .

I love the look on the owners faces when my fake dyno cars smoked their real dyno "mustang aka heart breaker" car

Kinda like when my strip tuned car smokes their "dyno tuned" muscle car. Then they see my car idling/running perfectly while theirs hunts wildly from 500-1500 rpm... Then dies.

Congrats Rish!
What happened to the part about, nahhh bruuhh the clutch ain't slippin'. Was the drum frozen or something, what was the temperature for this run?

Tires were slipping.

So I sat in the trunk and it worked lol. It was in the 40s here on Friday.

My car idles stupid high though...like almost 2k. Disconnecting the idle valve doesn't change things so either my valve is dead or the ebay TB is leaking. I have a stock tb from the Squaretop with a different valve I can swap in to try, but I really don't want to run the stocker for more than just testing for obvious reasons.

Edit : not sure if folks recall but my leakdown numbers weren't fantastic. Slightly leaky valves. Contemplating some head work over the winter and a few other things as well mostly focused on maintenance items and not power.
