Back to the dyno in my "de-Greddified" 1.6L DIY setup
Hello All,
I'll add a little more commentary in my build thread, but for the sake of this sub-forum, I'll cut the chit-chat. :hustler: All cinched in! http://turbomirage.com/miata/2011_04/IMG_0157.jpg Here's the latest engine shot. http://turbomirage.com/miata/2011_04/IMG_0168.jpg My best horsepower run was 252.8 at 6,400 rpm and my best torque run was 219.8 ft-lbs at 5,600 rpm. The best thing is how flat the torque curve is. These curves make my old Greddy setup look like there was a potato in the tailpipe at the top end. While I'm happy with those numbers, the dyno is a harsh mistress. She immediately informed me of a bad boost leak that I had thanks to a blown out DSM throttle body elbow gasket. The leak was quite spectacular, shooting a mist of my "boost cooler" fluid all around the gasket. This will be an easy fix and will definitely help with power and torque. It's hard to say how much that hurt my numbers, but it did have a negative impact - it was a huge leak. Here's the dyno sheet: http://turbomirage.com/miata/2011_04...yno_4_2011.jpg And here's the video: So what did I learn?

Tom, we could be making a bunch of subaru's cry right now at the autox :giggle:
I think a group of guys are doing a dragon run this month, you should tag along if you have the time. http://www.topbb.com/sportscarfrenzy...portscarfrenzy That's the forum most of the people that are going are on. Not too ricey, not too purist, its a decent mix of people and small enough that everyone knows each other just about. |
