Default ApexOnYou's 1/4 Mile Progress Thread

Might as well just make one thread instead of making new ones every time I go to the dragstrip. I know most of you could care less but I want to keep a log so that I dont have time slips nailed to my wall anymore.

New best time today:

T3/T4E @ 10psi (EDIT: 12psi due to inaccurate gauge) on Azenis RT615, no EMS

R/T: .230
60': 1.882
330': 5.349
1/8: 8.218 @ 86.61mph
1000': 10.659
1/4: 12.771 @ 110mph

This was the ONLY clean pass I made all day (5th pass IIRC), every other run, I had a miss shift. It dawned on me that my exhaust is dumping on the side of the transmission (derrr, I know..), so I let the car cool down completely and made the last pass and didnt have any problems. I think I might try to make a brace from the engine to the chassis to keep the drive train from flexing around so much, im sure that has alot to do with it being difficult to get into gear under load.

Damn nice. I don't understand how you can have enough fuel with stock injectors though. I think I maxed mine out with my jrsc around 165whp. Damn good though. You give me hope that mine might be in the 12's. So what are you using for fuel/ignition just an FMU and timing retard box or something?

Im as shocked as you are on that one. I am running it alittle on the lean side, but its still safe enough to have survived 5k miles of it, even running 93 most of the time. I didnt have my cam in the car Sunday so I cant remember the AFRs but I dont think I even hit 14. I never had a problem with detonation untill I started adding more timing on Sunday. I felt a faint "hesitation" in 4th gear winding out towards the finish line, I can only assume it was detonation, I cant hear anything with the open down pipe, so im just going on feel. But yeah just a Begi FMU, Bipes, Warlbro 190HP, and FM dual feed and their big *** stainless lines.

I think im done racing for this year, might go to the track once more but they close next month anyways. EMS over the winter, next years goal is 11.999

ACT Stage II/mystery flywheel I got off a parts car, it weighs 8.X lbs, and it has markings that make it appear to be a Clutch Masters.. It only had one engraved logo, and all I could make out was a C, then something else.

So I myself thought that 12s was odd for 10psi.. Well...

About two weeks ago, I switched my old style Z series boost gauge for a new style Z series boost gauge that my friend used previously. At first it was accurate, and at idle I had 22"vac like I did with my previous boost gauge..

Well, the day I ran the 12, I noticed that my boost was down to 8 or 9 psi, and I thought my friends were ******* with me again (they think its funny and yes they have fucked with my MBC before.. idiots). I turned it back up to 10psi @ the gauge, and ended up running the 12.7.

I noticed last week that my vac at idle was 24"vac, then 26"vac, then last night up at the highway it was 28" of vac. I shut the car off, and to my suprise, with the engine off the needle is sitting at 2"vac, two ticks down from 0.. Meaning that I was at 12psi the day I ran the 12. (assuming that it is two ticks short of being accurate, so 10psi @ the gauge would have actually been 12psi @ the manifold). Oops! Cant believe I let that one slip by me..

Thanks guys, the azenis are 195/60/14. I have quite a bit of negative camber in the rear (-2.5*), I think that helps alot when the rear squats alittle and it goes more towards neutral.
