Drag Strip Newb
Well, I figured I'd try my hand at drag racing. Our local track is only an 1/8 mile. Since I have no idea what a good or bad time is, I figured I'd let you guys tell me.
I have a 2000 with a six speed and a FMII 2560 kit. I'm using a MSII with 550s and a 2.5 inch FM turbo exhaust. 10psi. Reaction.... .1610 60FT......... 2.2641 330FT....... 6.1421 ET@594FT. 8.1261 1/8ET....... 8.7190 1/8MPH.... 75.90 Don't be to hard on me. This is my first trip to the drag strip, I am normally a autoXer. |
I'm not a 1/8 mile fan. Drag racing is all about precise timing. For instance I ran my '99 last year with a MS-1 in parallel on a stock clutch, with a MBC on like 12 psi? The clutch would slip real bad on a launch, so I babied it out of the hole, but I went a 14.4 at 101mph. About 3 weeks ago I ran my car again, but this time I'm on MS2 Standalone. Was running EBC which fluxuated between 7-11psi and I swapped in a FM Level 1 clutch. I ran a 13.972 @ 99.63 mph. about .5 seconds faster, but 2 mph slower?
Aside from that, I think your run was pretty decent. My 13.972 1/4 looked like this: Reaction: .243 60FT: 2.050 330FT: 5.912 1/8ET: 9.044 1/8 MPH: 77.95 |
