Default stock 1.6, 14b turbo, 230whp 14psi

Just finished some tuning at the dyno
Specs:
stock 1.6
toyota COP
JGS exhaust manifold
14b turbo
starion FMIC over the rad setup
460cc injectors
AEM EMS and wideband
2.5" exhaust from turbo to tailpipe with magnaflow muffler
cheap ebay bleed style boost controller

The boost peaked at 15psi and tapered off to 13psi which gave 229whp 226ft lbs. It was leaning out up top and we could hear a little detonation so we dialed it back to 11psi and it put down 201whp 192ft lbs. It could still use a little fine tuning but 200whp was my goal and i'm pretty happy overal.

Sweet numbers, I never realized how laggy that turbo is.

I think with a better boost control method the spool would be quicker. A 3" exhaust would probably help a bit too but I won't be doing that anytime soon.

Why didn't you add more fuel up top?

We tried. We added another 10% on the aem and nothing changed. I'm still running the original fuel pump and fuel rail, could this be a limiting factor? I also haven't done any coolant re-route yet.

It's probably your fuel pump

Thanks, i'll look into the fuel pump. I also have an exhaust leak that I can hear but haven't bothered to trace down yet. That could be a factor for the slow spooling.

I was running the same turbo with full 2.5 exhaust and I was getting 15 psi by 3600 RPMs but that was with an EBC too. Over all good numbers. I was always curious to see the numbers a 14b on a 1.6L would put down.

Nice! A stock 2.0L DSM will fully spool that turbo by about 3200rpm, so it's probably not more than 4-500 rpm late given that it's on a 1.6L. While leaky and late spooling it at least makes for a turbo setup that doesn't peak too early and won't give you much in the way of traction problems lol.
