I won a Free Dyno run!

Ptuning had an open house today and I won a raffle for 4 dyno pulls. Not bad for $5. Good think I had that new clutch in. That would have been embarrassing...

What is your fueling system? Obviously it's an FMU but which one, and what injectors and pump?
How much boost? No knocks at 4200 right? |
No knocks!
Stock Injectors (saving for Megasquirt) This was at about 6.5-7 PSI Here's the mods: ~NGK Ignition Wires ~GReddy Turbocharger ~Bowser Heat Shield ~BRPerformance Bipes ACU ~2.5" Enthuza Turbo Exhaust ~2.5" Racing Mazda Downpipe ~Jackson Racing High Flow Cat ~Stripes Intercooler Pipes ~18x12x2.5 Intercooler ~Greddy Type RS BOV ~VooDoo I MBC ~K&N Air Filter ~BEGi AFPR ~Walbro Fuel Pump ~SPEC Stage 2 Clutch ~Braided Clutch Lines |
not bad. dynojet would read about 15% higher (185-190)
didn't realize there was an open house today! |
You need to increase your 0 vac fuel pressure by screwing down the center shaft on the FMU. Then start opening the thumbscrew on the little valve on the side to reduce your pressure rising rate. You'll probably need to pick up a second check valve from the parts store to get enough of a bleed off. Do that and your torque curve will look much better. I would tell you to turn up boost to reduce the richness, but I don't see any timing controller.

Im using a Bipes. I couldn't have lasted this long without it.
|
cool. I've not had a bipes so I can't help you use it to tune ignition.
But do what I wrote earlier, except if you can't lean it out enough up top, add a little boost. If all that fuel is getting into the motor, you may as well give it some air and combust it. :bigtu: There is both more power and more safety available there. you might need a helper spring to control you wg a little better if you're getting a boost spike. |
True that guys add more air to lean out that fuel and make more power :D everybody wins
|
the spike is curious. I'd like to see what my FP gauge is showing you at taht spot. I'd say it needs a tad more pressure at 0~hg, I set it to 50psi, maybe go to 55psi, then back off the bleeder to acheive the same pressure in boost.
|
yeah wow i never noticed that before. Bump up the base for sure and then stretch out the rise for sure. For your HP level aim for 90 psi by 6 psi and the stock ecu should pull you closer to 12's this will help you make more power. running 11-1 is not practical safe or economical.
|
I would look into an O2 clamp for the spike. This is not a commercial announcement.
|
Thanks for the advice guys! I'll try to get some actual tuning in at the next dyno day!
