bhp = rwhp when its measured on a chassis dyno.

thanks brain neck bro for the format... didnt know how to do that ... lol

Hey zoom2zoom ... this measurement is for power on the crank.... if its rwhp ... take away 10 percent power and bam !! theres the rwhp... i think

Hey pipefather... i will post some pics of the car when i can get the images in the cellphone onto the CPU..

Did they really measure flywheel horsepower? Certainly a difficult thing to do, unless they measured rwhp and put some arbitrary correction factor for flywheel. I've always seen drivetrain losses as ~20% for Miatas, but normally quoted for N.A. numbers.

If it was on a roller it's rwhp. a lot of the software is setup for engine dynos.

Interesting setup and nice numbers, how does it feel with the TD04? I was talking to people who thought it would be too big of a turbo for a miata to still feel "responsive" although I know that its all relative.

are you serious about him getting 270rwhp from a td04l?

my mates turbo'd 4agze mr2(1600 supercharged convert) was getting 215rwhp at 11psi, how much boost are you running?

Hey crazy, how did the wiring of your AVC-R go on your ride? I am just starting an install on mine and am curious to hear how you wired everything in.

#'s look good!

I had a 1.6 and replaced it with a 1.8 because I did not think you could make that much power.

I'm guessing this is from somewhere in Europe and that figure is a corrected crank HP number.

I am going to redo the exhaust and intercooler sometime in the next two months to take care of the flattened torque curve above 5000 rpm.

I don't believe that dyno is correct. The TD04 is such a small turbo it should make MUCH more torque at a lower RPM.

Checkout the dyno plot from here:
MX-5 Miata Forum - DIY Turbo 1.8 - on the cheap

Something smells extremely fishy. Waaaay too much power with that turbo on either a 1.6 or 1.8......

you could factor in later spool because of the smaller engine size, and also it looks like the turbo on his setup might be ported... that makes a HUGE difference.

i'm finishing up my manifold for the subie turbo i picked up, just a standard log mani, but should get the job done.
