-96 motor (90000 miles) stock AFAIK
-exhintake cam
-38 mm Tial wastegate with 7 psi spring boost connected under diaphram, top opening to atmosphere
-Garrett GT 2560 R turbo
-log exhaust manifold from Weld-els and 3" exahust with Hooker Muffler
-Greddy Emanage Ultimate
-MR 2 intercooler from Ebay
-RX7 460 cc injectors
-93 octane pump gas

New intercooler and routing on pipes appears to flow a lot more air that last years configuration. Same settings ended up with seriosly lean condition on same manifold pressure.
Boost is controlled by Tial 7 psi spring only, but there was a boost spike at 7000 rpm, which I presume was a result of wastegate muffler, maybe it didn't flow enough air on that volume.
Dynoing was interrupted because there seemed to be lean condition across the board as if fuel filter was plugged or fuel pump didn't produce enough volume. I found loose bolts on downpipe afterwards And I presume the sensor got some extra air from there. I did change the filter and measured pressure and observed the return line and the fuel seems to be just fine.

Notice super lean after 7200 rpm, that is because of Emanage Ultimate rev limiter system. I forgot this at the dyno and tried to add % into 7500 column without any affect. The red line was when I tested whether injector or fuel pump were maxed out. I need to check the settings and logs, but I believe the Emanage had separate injector duty cycle setting above revlimiter, and this was inherited from old setup. I need to confirm this.

Tomorrow to Road Atlanta. Should be fun!

I don't see how you can get enough air in to the stock head at that low of pressure to get those numbers.. This was a Dynojet Dyno?

Even if there is just 7 psi spring in the wastegate it looks like Greddy MAP sensor picked up intake manifold pressure up to peak 13 psi at 7200 rpm, mostly pressure was between 7 and 9 psi in area above 6000 rpm.

I think there are some restrictions in my wastegate dump pipe, especially in the motorcycle muffler used there. I cut it out today and will report how the boost acts without it.

Ok that makes way more sense.. sounds right in line with most folks in that range with that snail.. I was about to ask if you were using the juice.. :nxsmile:

Yes it is Dynojet Dyno. Something in the new setup flows a lot more air in same pressure levels than last year since the whole curve was pretty lean this time. Compare athttps://www.miataturbo.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8043

As far as I know it should be comparabale. At the time Tullos EBC was still working.

you changed the IC and the piping.. what are your air temps at the intake manifold?

Sorry no sensors in intake manifold. Air intake temp is recorded with MAF sensor which is not in actual airflow into the engine, just located under the hood.

Nice job. Goes to show that that piping really does matter.

I'm going to try to make it to RA today; seems everyone's going to be there. We'll see how quick I can get the truck's brakes done. :mad:

Nice, this is the first exhintake on a turbo car dyno graph I've seen. I have a spare exhaust cam and always wondered if this mod was good for a turbo car. More duration (therefore overlap) I believe on the exhaust, not necessarily good for a turbo, but I don't know much about that.
