Default Braineack T3 Super 60 Dyno Runs (232rwhp)

Slightly disappointed. Run on a loaded 424xLC dynojet dyno, these numbers are reading almost exactly 10% lower than my previous runs on any 248 x Dynojet. The shop says the eddy brake is putting slight load on the rollers and they are getting a replacement model (we couldn't do loading base tuning). I called Dynojet and they said the condition might cause this loss.

But here's the results. If I factor in 10% I'm very happy and right where I thought I should be, otherwise I'm scratching my head on both cars that we ran today where the missing power is.

Here's comparing today's results with last years...at only 13psi peak, I'm missing 10% power throughout:

Atleast you know where you're at. Your torque curve is pretty nice, I like it as I'm sure you do as well.

Boo faulty brake.

Hopefully I get back to the dyno next weekend. I'll have fresh #s off the WG and then ebc fun.

yeah really, the only change in my setup is a larger IC and resonator on the exhaust. I can't see a 10% loss from that. I do see loss of spool due to the larger IC, but the power loss is beyond me. They said it themselves it reads lower than most dynojets in the area and the brake module is being replaced next week, they said a drum always has a slight load on it. If I'm right about the 10% loss that puts me at 255rwhp / 221rwtq, pretty much exactly what I was expecting.

I guess I'll wait for the next local dyno day on a straight up 242x Dynojet and see what I get.

So you're running 13PSI boost and making 232whp? Sounds good to me.

I know right, thing had a huge Holset on it, making 280rwtq or something crazy.

They don't run the dyno during the week and Brad wasn't going to be able to to do it any Saturday anytime soon, so we went to Moore's.

15 pounds; look at the boost plot The last dyno comparison above I hit 225rwhp @ 6K at 13psi last year. At 13psi, at the same rpm today, I only hit 205rwhp.

I was expecting to break 250rwhp today with around 15 pounds.

man, looking at my logs...

run five, which shows 15.6psi through the dynojet was recorded on my MS as 195-197kPa or only 13.8psi or so....(peak spike hitting 14.6psi at 5.6Ki)

duty cycle hitting 85% at 7000RPM @ 11.9:1

I've attached my run file. In any case the car is running great. Need to swap out the intake manifold and get rid of the restriction...guess I need 550s soon too

Matt if you are really interested in e30's I got a friend you might want to talk to. He is working on a boosted e30 running ms. Actually it was the first car that Moores tuned last winter on their dyno.

He probably didn't hear that only the PC-Pro can be used as additional intercoolers.

The cars are looking nice, still good power imo. They should give you both a free run because their dyno was fuxord.

Do you get over 67 ft-lbs per liter per atmosphere of MAP?

At the same rpm, the previous run that hit 13psi at 6K when I lifted calculates to 65 ft-lb. Today's run where I logged 14.06psi at 6k calculates to 61.7 ft-lb.

In an effort to figure out why I'm down 20hp with a touch more boost I went out and looked at my Cam timing. I was never confident I did it correctly when I had to swap my crank pulley. It's dead on.

So I took out the timing light and saw I was off 4.5*!!!

Where MS said I was idling at 17*, I was really around 12*. With no other changes but adding 1* on the dyno I made 7 peak HP. Could be where I'm missing some power, I'll have to double check Newbsauce's timing as well, but it could be where my loss was.

I still wanna strap on a Dynojet 248LC and see what I end up with now...when I compare these plots with the ones I did in July with my bad turbine/shaft, I'm only up 15rwhp on the good turbo...doesn't add up (same spark & boost level). The way the turbo is spool off the dyno doesn't correlate with my 4th gear street pulls. Oh well.
