Great numbers. Looks like the engine wants more rpms maybe 7500. Power is still climbing at redline

borka 11-17-2019 07:52 PM

great numbers and spool !

E85 ?

kamel6k 11-18-2019 04:48 AM

Nice results! I keep getting knock no matter what above 250kpa. By your torque and hp curve shape it seems you’re ramping boost or at least timing, do you mind sharing numbers?

is this the same tune as your previous virtuadyno?

Congrats!

Mpliki 11-18-2019 01:16 PM

Thank you all . The numbers are indeed unexpectedly high:)

On the road, the turbo spool's much faster.

No it is not on E85 .We don't have the magic timing juice here in Greece(at least not available in gas stations).

I am using 100Ron shell V-power, the equivalent in the states is 93 pump if am not mistaken.

I am going to increase the rev. limiter from 7000 to 7300. No more because i love my motor and i want it to live for a long time.

Here's my timing table, all comments are welcome, am tuning the car myself.

I am setting up traction control in megasquirt. I got the vr board today and i installed on the car. I am searching, but i cannot find any info adout teeth on the ads sensor.

Can some one tell me, how many teeth does the ads ring have?

Miata 99-00

Thank you.

My spark table is very similar in the 250kpa zone. I actual have more spark advance in the 200kpa/220kpa area. I get 360ish whp on the virtuadyno in dynojet mode but i'm nowhere near those numbers on the roller dyno.

Engine usually outputs maximum hp around 6800 if boost/spark advance are kept linear. I know 6258 is on the merge of loosing efficiency on that area and the 6758 is just picking up around that area and your virtuadyno just shows that teorical gain. Any 100-200kph figures?

Traction control in MS is very simplistic, only suitable for drag pulls i think.

Once again, congratz!

You have the upgraded valve springs, you can safely rev the engine to at least 7500-7600rpm. I would if I were you since the engine seems to be asking for it. I have my rev limiter set to 7450. I never take it that high because I have a 2560r that runs out of steam past 6500, but again you will be fine in the 7600rpm range.

Do you have a build thread i can read? Also can you share your spark map, so i can see how much more you are running?

I dont have any figures yet. I will have a dragy in my hands pretty soon :skid:

I know that it is very simple and i am going to use it, just to help me get off the line faster. I read somewhere in here, that a dude uses it in Auto X and it kinda works.

When i have time, i will sett it up and give an update.

Slow the train a moment, that graph is BHP, not WHP.

Still great numbers, but I bet a lot of people are seeing 425hp on pump and their minds are blown because they think it wheel power.

I never said that was whp. I didn't brag about it.

I dont want to start the good old feud, Europe Vs American BHP Vs WHP Vs HP Vs KW.

I post the results, so people can get as much info as possible.

Car feels great and next time,(when i sort out the transmission "destruction" issue) it will be over 400 Bhp, Whp , Hp :fawk:

It’s not that. As I said, on a euro roller dyno you would never get that bump over dynojet wheel power. On Euro dynos you get crank power that equals manufacture numbers, and you remove drag calculated during dyno coast on deccel. As an example: a stock bp4w will measure 140hp crank and 105whp. This is equal to whp in a mustang dyno.

i was trying to know from the OP if it a known free HP dyno or not. As OP referred car must be amazing to drive and we’re trying to gather info.

PS: on your virtuadyno you put 2728 wet weight, have you weight the car?

Yes. I weighted the car, with half a tank and it was 1140 kilos 2513lbs. Plus my weight, 98kilos 216lbs.

On VD that is not wet weight. It is the total weight of the car and the driver

And yes it is fat and heavy as a pig and i love it :giggle:

kamel6k 11-19-2019 02:41 PM

I’m exactly 98kg too :). It’s just that I weight my car at 1060kg, full interior, a/c and ps and always seamed to me to low for a 99 1.8 turbo + cat and 3” big mufler and resonator.

1060?! Nice. Turbo kit 3inch exhaust with a turbomiata approved magnaflow muffler, 16inch wheels with 225/45/16, braces, rollbar, a hardtop, full interior ps but no A/C, extra sound and heat insulation . I have to reduce weight. Do you have a build thread so i can check out your specs?

Impressive numbers. Have you measured EGT on this at all? I've not seen anyone make this much with an EFR on pump fuel.

Thank you. Just a reminder, it's HP not WHP..

I believe soviet went over 400 on pump gas

As for EGT, never. Because i have a trackspeed manifold which is cast stainless steel ( i love it!), i dont want to punch a hole on it and then weld a bung for a EGT probe in fear of it cracking. I will shoot myself if anything happens to it.

Yep, it's still a lot though!

Did soviet have a tubular manifold? I've not seen any cast manifold EFRs make near yours on pump though.

I understand not wanting to drill/weld that piece of art!

I didn't mean to imply you intentionally mislead anyone, just that most here will assume whp by default. I wasn't calling you out, just trying to let everyone else be aware of what's being presented.

I know when I post things here, I have to make an effort to convert units from metric (kw, cm, mm, km, L, nm, etc) into freedom units. It just helps everyone compare from an standard level.

The numbers are impressive, I bet it's blast to drive, I'm definitely a little jealous.
