Default 4G63 rat rod dyno=800.3hp 556tq

I know this is not a Miata, but with this project nearing an end and me being able to enjoy it now, a Miata very well could be my next car. With the success a few guys have had running Dsmlink, it seems like the next logical step in challenging myself. The few stock Miatas I have driven were fun. Now with some real power they could be pretty sweet. After I recover from buying my new home, I am going to get serious about making a purchase. In the mean time, please enjoy my little toy.

2.0 4G63
9.2:1 custom Arias pistons
Pauter connecting rods
TH400 transmission
Holset HX52
44psi
Dsmlink
1150cc primaries
6-1600cc secondaries
Magnafuel mechanical fuel pump
GSC S3 cams
Bone stock cylinder head(no porting)
1G non-turbo throttle body
Stock 1G intake manifold, no porting
L19's@110lb/ft
Mitsubishi four layer head gasket(no orings)
BR10ES pulgs at .020" gap
Accel wires
Accel Ford coil
Stock ignitor

800hp 556tq corrected
640hp 445tq uncorrected at 6100ft

The videos are very long as I don't know how to edit nor did I take the videos. One shows the truck from the front at 41psi, the other is the 44psi pull.

Isn't that the point of rat-rods? I bet it's ******* retarded to drive. Absurd power, would probably be an understatement.

OP: Care to explain the purpose of primary/secondary injectors? I assume the car wouldn't idle with 2000cc injectors, so you'd have two sets. When does the second set kick on, and how do you control tip-in throttle fuel delivery?

Also, in the last video, you passenger side rear tire looks like it has a death wobble.

There are numerous DSM guys running 2000+cc injectors daily. I run straight ethanol and use 10 injectors to fuel this thing. I do not run an intercooler, so all the fuel cools the air charge. With all the ballast it has in fluids, it weighs right at 2500lbs. I run almost 16 gallons of fuel and 13 gallons of water.

The secondaries turn on at 5300rpm. It has to be at certain perimeters for a few things, but it is based off rpm, load, knock, tps and speed. But generally around 16-20psi they turn on. The secondaries are activated by the ecu through a relay. These axles are the original 50 year old c-clip axles from GM. It is possible they are no longer straight. But there is no issues while I drive it. You cannot feel anything that would indicate there is a problem.

Maybe if things go well I can take Dsmlink like a few others have done and make myself a nasty little Miata.

You should swap a 4G63 into a Miata.

IIRC there is a 4G63 compatible bell-housing that will bolt up to a RX7 gearbox. Not sure of the specifics.

I would run the baby torqueflight 904 or another GM tranny. But I think the Miata engine would be a more interesting approach. I have built near 100 4G63's. I am ready for a change and a challenge. But, I have to get a chassis first before I can get serious.

I like the spirit of attempting BIG-power BP, but power/dollar ratio-wise it's a far from ideal platform.
The cost-benefit and fun to drive factors of lower-300 whp Miata builds makes a lot of sense.
Many have tried ALLOFIT 400+ whp builds, only to realize you're dealing with a vibration-cursed
truck engine designed ~3 decades ago.

4G63 + GM trans swap + dsmlink
lots of pics (include cats)
post epic build thread
???

i bet it would make a lot more power if you removed that silly screen on the turbo.

There is two pieces of screen and a piece of chicken wire for support underneath that. It is there to keep the turbo from injesting debris. It is driven on the street. I never had a goal in mind, it would just be easier than doing another swap.

Hey biglady, I remember seeing your crazy builds over on the DSMLink forums. There are a decent amount of DSM to Miata converts here. Very interested in seeing what you turn out.

I have always wanted to build a Miata powered track-nose 30s style roadster. I love seeing cars like this.
