Stacy's 1hr Dyno Tune-Proven Power in Tampa

I went over to Proven Power today to see exactly how much my power my car was making. More importantly, how good of a tune that I actually had. I was hoping that after a full year of fiddling with the MS it would be ok. Surprisingly enough, I had a damn good tune. The AFR's on the 1st run were almost perfect through out the entire rpm range. We tweeked the fuel tables only when adding small amounts of boost, and I settled in on running 13.7 psi or 196 kPa, up from 12.5. It was still pulling hard to redline, and there was plenty of room left to go higher than that.

1st Run- 218.13hp / 199.85 TQ- 12.5 psi
8th Run- 242.38hp / 213.67 TQ- 13.7 psi

Enjoy.

I fixed it, but my ninja edit was too slow for you.

not pulling to redline to see your real peak hp fail.

what turbo?

Dont be an ass.

what specific t3/t4: what compressor trim? what turbine stage? what turbine a/r?

but really does everyone forget the rev limiter is 7250?

DontPassTheFence 08-14-2009 04:00 PM

Id like to see a miata dyno graph that goes to 7k atleast, shit.

Honestly power for me seems to peak around 6500rpm so when they asked if i wanted to increase decrease or leave the same rev limiter i said 7100 would be fine.

That being said when tuning we did peg the rev limiter to make sure we had full graphs of what was occurring.

we used speed density for rpm pick-up, but I put that fucker on the rev limiter in every pull.

Brain, the turbo is very similar to your new china .60compressor .48 turbine, 50trim, I think.

Not running to redline is my fault. He asked where redline was and how far he wanted me to run it. I told him to shut it down around 6500. Hey, it was my 1st dyno pull with the MS so I was cautious. Next time I will let it go to the soft cut. I get nerved on the dyno, especially after seeing my buddies 951 blow out the bottom end a few years ago.

The downpipe sucks though. I already knew that going in. It bottlenecks from 3 to 2.25 then back up to 2.5. It is cobbled up mess. Also, the ext wastegate dump enters the downpipe real close to the turbine exit. They are going to fab me a new 304 SS downpipe with V band. It should help the spool considerably.

Outside of that, I am pleased.

don't forget to shift the powerband left a little. Peak torque is right at 4000.

Just think how sexy it will be with the absurdflow.

That's great.

What exhaust manifold are you running?
