took old blue to the dyno wow

so i took my tuner and my car to the dyno today.

first run laid down 299 torque ...336 rwhp

the second run it made 358 rwhp at 17 psi

i have to go back and get the dyno sheet i was happy with it and forgot the sheets

i don't have a scanner does any one know if a digital camera pic will show up well enough?

the car has a precision sc61 turbo, 750cc injector's, front mount I/C is 31x12x3, its a bit lazy at first but hits hard after

ill try to get more info on it from the tuner. it will be going back to the dyno some time next week right before i run the last event in Vegas for the season ends.

Threads like this are useless without the fucking graphs.

Toddcod 12-05-2008 09:30 AM

Sounds like good power. I bet it is a thrill to drive!

paul 12-05-2008 09:31 AM

built motor? displacement?

Saml01 12-05-2008 10:06 AM

My car put down 400hp, and 360torque to the wheels.

paul 12-05-2008 10:16 AM

mine broke the dyno which was only rated to 800hp

brgracer 12-05-2008 10:23 AM

Just out of curiosity, what were your injector duty cycles with the 750cc injectors? Stock or walbro fuel pump?

Best way i found to show a graph is to use the print screen button (upper right on most key boards) and save it on ms paint. then you can transfer it like a photo without the fuzz :)

To be fair ill answer the op's question. Yes you can use a camera, but make sure you set it for macro mode and take the picture at maximum wide, filling the frame with the page you are shooting.

m2cupcar 12-05-2008 11:47 AM

maximum wide is going to turn straight lines into curved lines... I'd say zoom until the straight lines are straight and right angles are squared up

This has never happened to me on any of my dslr's or P&S.

Theres a lot more complexity to getting the picture readable if you zoom, even a little on a P&S.

You get your car tuned at FactorX in Vegas? Heard there was a blue miata being tuned there putting down some big numbers.

thanks there were 2 miatas getting done there 1 black and mine

mine was the big number one

you guys wonder why people don't post answer's to your question's

look at all the negative feed back i have no reason to lie

both my power and torque curves were great get it tuned by some one that know how to tune and you see what you want out of the car

its a blast

blue turbo mx5 12-05-2008 12:42 PM

any how guys i will be going to pick up the slips from the dyno a bit later and i'll try to get them posted

its a built motor

Braineack 12-05-2008 12:47 PM

what type of dyno? if it was a dynojet, get me the .drf files.

cueball1 12-05-2008 01:49 PM

People are scoffing as they want to 1. see the slips 2. see more info on your build 3. see pics

If I came into the board and just said "I ate lunch today" no one would care. If I included what I ate, descriptions of it, pictures of it, what it cost, an ingredient list and why I thought it was worth discussing there might be more interest. You put up some very impressive numbers but there isn't much to discuss without a whole lot more information from you!

Saml01 12-05-2008 01:57 PM

^ Pretty much.

The dyno numbers we can wait for, but build info can be had now.

urgaynknowit 12-05-2008 02:05 PM

i need the following

1. picture of said car

2. picture of said motor

3. picture of said graph

4. picture of your girlfriend/wife for transgressions against mt.net

do not post any more until 3 of those are met,
in any order,
preferably bottom to top

I think you're mistaken. Full wide on a lot of P&Ss is around 25mm and most dlsr wide angles are near the same. They distort straight lines, you may just not realize it. It's called barrel distortion. That's why there's correction settings for it in post processing software. 50mm is considered safe on most lenses to avoid distortion- which really isn't zoomed.

Very strange. My SD870 has a 28mm wide, and never suffers from barrel distortion.

My Nikon D70 with an 18-105 doesnt either.

I still wouldn't care what you ate.

MattEGTR 12-05-2008 08:05 PM

All that work and still running the VAFM instead of a MAP... the mind boggles.

TE37s make me feel all funny inside.

Fireindc 12-05-2008 08:10 PM

AFM FTL.

Not my style, but nice ride.

In for the dyno graph.

what miata? 12-05-2008 11:01 PM

man everyone is quick to hate on the site... nice set up who made the manifold?..... looks like mine kinda.... should be putting down big numbers soon too.. in the 300 range but my turbo is not a big...

Saml01 12-05-2008 11:33 PM

Wow that thing is massive.

100 shot early on will get that bitch to spool relatively quick.

viperormiata 12-06-2008 12:18 AM

That turbo eats babies and the intercooler makes nuns cry

18psi 12-06-2008 12:34 AM

make sure it never spins backwards, It will swallow that little engine:giggle:

Toddcod 12-06-2008 09:37 AM

That is a big turbo. Can I fondle it?

kotomile 12-06-2008 02:24 PM

Great numbers, are you leaving the AFM (however hollow it is) in place for emissions reasons or just to be ironic?

Also, when you say fully built, can you go into some detail? Which pistons, what CR, rods, what sort of headwork, etc.?

Also what are you running for drivetrain?

JayL 12-06-2008 02:45 PM

Nice car. I really like your setup, especially since it's very similar to my own. And just as everyone else has asked, it would be nice to hear about everything in more detail.

the drive trans is stock the trans is a 97 with 30k miles the lsd is brand new factory. Engine is a 1.6

It has mild head work. The engine has all the same shit that flying miata puts into there engine's.

The air flow meter is gone that was a pic from a couple of weeks ago. Im having a intake tube built for it

Good to hear! Any videos of the car in action? There aren't enough videos of 300+whp miata around.

blue turbo mx5 12-06-2008 09:28 PM

i will get some on the next dyno session and maybe some in car stuff soon just want to fix some minor issue out with the car
