Default EMB vs. Ultimate on a 94

I'm trying to decide which to buy for my m62 supercharged 94. It seems that most of the ultimate fans on this board have 1.6 motors and want to get rid of the AFM, but I've got a 1.8 and the MAF doesn't bug me. Why should I go with an ultimate (around $400) instead of a blue ($150 used)? My target hp is around 190, probably using 310cc injectors which I'm pretty confident the blue can handle. I want to get rid of my current PC + MSD setup so I can run more boost.

I had the EMB on a 90 with 1.8 swap.
not bad at all!
Now I am running the EMU, much more fun!!
To many features to explain here.

My choice is the EMU by far over the EMB.
But it needs more experience/time,
if you want to invest that, go for EMU.

Falk, thanks for the thumbs up, but it'd really help more if you could specify why the EMU is worth it. The only features that seem to stand out are the ability to run bigger injectors if needed and the ability to switch from one map to another. Since my power goals aren't outrageous, It would seem the emb is a better value.

Just some features I like beside the known:
-Bigger log screen, better log features.
-Output maps for relays, O2 clamp, etc.
-Autotune
-WBO2 fine adjustment in setup
-fine mapping over water/air temp

simply much more options then EMB
ok, they are only neccessary if you want to play with them
But most here discovered that first goal gets fast history.
If you have the options, why not use them.

The EMU can pull fuel, can be usefull too.
Further, 1.8 Maf is restrictive too, better take it out.

EMB on my car, but it was picked up for a song.... but when you consider, the additional price for the autotune, etc.... it's much closer to an EMU. Plus there's the data cable issue with the blue, where you have to run either a clone USB cable, or the original cable to a USB to serial adapter....

I would say, it depends on what you want. With an EMU you can remove the MAS, and also pull fuel to idle bigger injectors, like 430's.... You are much more limited with the EMB, to say 330's.....

Depends on how much you can get the EMB for.... if you can get one for a good price, with the harnesses... then pickup a MAP sensor, and optionally the autotune.... it's a good deal, considering the flexibility.

If you want to really turn the boost up, go for the EMU, since you'll get the benefit of no MAS, and also the WB + Map sensor input. And the larger injectors.....

Just factor into either, you'll need a laptop for tuning, and I would highly recommend a WB O2 sensor, to make sure your tune is doing what you expect.
