Autotune Your Emanage

What is it? What does it do? Problem Areas? Click on the text below.
What does it cost? Autotune with switch, shipped $190 Pressure Switch only $30 all via USPS Priority Mail Need only an O2 clamp? $85 E-mail me for further info. DO NOT PM(I can only attach information to e-mails) |
I'm thinking of going with the EMU for my supercharged 1.6 so I really appreciate all the info I can get. I keep reading about the O2 clamp and how it cures the lean condition between 2K & 4K rpm... I wonder if this O2 clamp might be a good solution before I even add the Emanage Ultimate.. Can somebody help me with this? If so, I'd like to know where I can get one of these and instructions on installtion, etc.
Many thanks |

New file added to first post on this thread. Will explain a little further the Autotune.

Gee Bruce most of the issues you have discussed in the latest document were mine. I don't know if I should feel proud or embarrassed! :)

Jay It worked fine on mine intially until my AFM went south. I found further that when the noisy AFM signal was fixed, the Emanage held it richer at 49% than I wanted. The signal was probably noisy to begin with, and then got worse to the point that the Emanage gave up. |
The good thing about having problems is that you are forced to gain a better understanding. After all the issues I've had, which were mostly due to making too many changes at once, I've learned a lot about the emanage.
You've been a big help. |
Hey Bruce, that's definately a good document.... Although, I think you should "label" it as a troubleshooting one, or something like that.
BTW, so far the autotune is working for me... and also... I've been lucky enough to be able to hook the NB O2 to an AFR gauge without any impacts so far. <G> You also might want to "suggest" that useful troubleshooting techniques involve "tapping" a wire to the O2 output to the stock ECU, TPS and the input O2 signal, so you can watch the voltages with a DVM. Sofla gave me the idea, and it was great. Drove around with a DVM on the pax seat for two days to verify the O2 was working, and the output voltages for the clamp, and what was making it to the TPS.... <G> Now it's also possible these things could add to the "voltage issues" if you already have them too.... so maybe put a disclaimer about potential impacts.... The support here from the users, and from you personally has been great BTW. Dave, |
I have just installed my Autotune this week.
I was not hard to do. Everything was good described in the manual. Thanks for the support Bruce. André |

What is the best sequence of installation and tuning regarding a DIY turbo setup? What electronics, pumps, regulators, come first in the process? I feel it would be best to do it in small steps but dont know what each step requires.

Bruce, I was thoroughly impressed by the O2 clamp. So much so that I have just sent you $$$ via PayPal for the Autotune/O2 clamp minus the Hobbs switch since I have mine from the O2 Clamp I previously bought from you.
Appreciate the great customer service and help with these parts. |

A little something in support of the Autotune's ability to do what it's supposed to do--hold sweet AFR's.
Alright, so here is one of my little test runs. http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/c...ghtTimeAFR.jpg Here's a log from that run. Attachment 204930 Greddy Sensor Voltage of 2.10V = 8.70psi boost Nearly 10psi. The Throttle Position % is not really TP. It is actually where the Autotune routes the Stock(narrowband) O2 signal(voltage) through the EMB, and the EMB has a Additional Injection Map that is specifically designed/setup to alter fuel to maintain a targeted AFR. For me, I'm shooting for 11.5:1AFR. And that is basically what you see in that video of the WBO2 gauge. Bruce, you do a good thing by offering this nice component. And, BTW, your tech supportness is :bigtu:!!! |
Sorry I haven't been able to get to my emails in two days. Miata time cuts into my computer time a lot on sunny days.
