Emanage Ultimate setup help

Looking for some help to get this thing to work. I have an emanage ultimate and a mazdaspeed miata (2004) I've found a few that say they have been able to get it to work on other sites, but they seem to no longer frequent the site. The engine codes availble in the emanage ultimate software does not have an option for the BP-4w in the MSM. BP-VE is availble (01-05 miatas with VVT and a little higher compression) but the MSM does not have the VVT head.

It's been suggested to use the "universal setting and input the data yourself, but I don't know what parameters to select. My intent is to just get the car running and take it to a local shop for tuning. However, Id like to get the EMU installed and working before I take it to the shop to expedite the process. Anybody?

i got it to work on a 01 and we are both in NC(i am in greensboro) i would have to see it in order to be able to help with it. maybe i can give you some tips i don't know much about mazda speed cars and their setup. i can show you how my setup looks maybe go from there.

If I could see what your setup screen/fields look like that would be a good start. I can come to greensboro too. I will be in Danville VA this weekend and it's not far away. I believe the EMU has you vehicle listed. I think he main difference in the two cars is the head, you have VVT and I dont. I'm not sure how much differnce that makes.

i am not sure that there is too much of a difference since the emu is a piggyback. the stock ecu still controlls the vvt. i will send yo my file if you want.

isn't the 99-00 motor the same as the MSM?
you may be able to get away selecing the 99-00 engine code...ask some 99-00 miata owners that run EMU

The Motor is very close but i'm not sure it has the same wiring.

the MSM has the 01+ Coil set up
Not sure if it has VICS
ECU plugs are different not sure if it has it's own pin outs or if it the same as the 01+

Just some thoguhts.. good luck..

The only thing that is different is the Valve Cover has the holes for the 01+ Coils and plug wires.

Are you running a turbo??? what is you basic setup, i.e turbo SC, injectors? My main objective is to get it running using the emanage so I can get it to a tuner. I'm thinking about the AEM wide band to autotune once I get it up and running. I'm not really sure it is worth the cost because once I get it tuned I won't be messing with it. I plan to do a turbo upgrade later along wiht 460 injectors, at which time I will get another tune. Does anyone know how well autotune really works?

auto tune is great to be honest. the thing is accurate and you can play with it to get it fine tuned. you would not really need a dyno with it. i have experienced great results. AF ratios are great on it and you can do major adjustments. i would go with a LC1 wide band instead. AEM is good but i have had great customer service with the LC1 that is why i stick with them.

Got it. Will play with it on Monday when I get back in town. Thanks

msydnor 01-12-2008 09:40 PM

Which engine option did you select in the setup control panel?

msydnor 01-14-2008 08:19 PM

For anyone interested, I got the EMU working on my MSM today. If anyone else with a MSM and a EMU has maps they wouldn't mind sharing PM me.

musanovic 01-14-2008 09:52 PM

glad u got it to run use the wideband to make ur own maps everyones is different depending on setups autotune is great

msydnor 01-14-2008 10:05 PM

I'll get one next week. I have to do some reading to figure out how to use it. Which wideband are you using?

musanovic 01-14-2008 10:22 PM

lc1 plugs right in make sure u get the connector for the wideband to the emu makes life easy. there are posts on alternatives too as it concerns connectors

msydnor 01-14-2008 10:31 PM

From what I can tell the connector is only 15-25 bucks.
