Help with what?

mookie_fiasco 01-15-2012 12:09 AM

Thanks for the quick reply!

If your looking at the e-managae 'Maps Scales' screen the values on the left hand column that are in blue. What is there meaning?

Also I'm basicly trying to start tuning my a/f from scratch?

Any help or tuning tips would be greatly appreciated!

Info on my current setup is

2000 Miata
FM Voodoo 2 kit
stock injectors in (440cc standing by ffor install)
trying to DD 12psi boost safely

First off, if you're going to install larger injectors, you may as well do it now. You will need to redo the map again once you do.

The left side vertical column is either tps % or greddy vac/boost sensor voltage. If you don't already have a greddy sensor, I would suggest getting one. You will get much safer, more accurate fueling with one on a turbo car.

When you start, all values will be at zero which means the emu has no influence on the car whatsoever. You will want to focus on the areas from spool-up to redline first since those will be the areas that need extra fuel immediately. I started rich for safety then start leaning it out after logging some runs and watching the wideband. Make sure you also have an ignition map set up to retard timing from spool-up to redline as well.

How much boost are you running and are you intercooled?

mookie_fiasco 01-15-2012 12:44 PM

yes im intercooled and running 10psi right now but defiantly want to try running 14psi. if i could bug you for ignition/fueling maps if you had them ie screen shot to get a good understanding. so when you say vac/boost sensor are you talking about the pressure sensor everyone has been talking about? i will get one soon if that is the case but for now i need to set up the column for throttle position...so could i maybe get a screen shot of how that may work as well? the car right now is idling fine but idles very very rich like 10.0-10.2. i thought the ecu is in closed loop and regulates the afr during that time. doesn't seem like it is doing it at the moment. thanks again for the help =)

i would love to get a response for my last post

mookie_fiasco 02-08-2012 02:05 PM

well i have the pressure sensor installed now and have a descent tune going for myself but i know i can make more power. i have the rx7 460cc injectors and duel feed rail. car ideas fine but is crazy rich. injectors parameters are 280old 460new. how do i lean it out at idle? it is so rich that i need to wait 10 min to start the car after i shut down cause it floods the engine...heaven forbid i stall in the middle of traffic lol. please help

You'r old injectors are 240cc (oem) try that.

mookie_fiasco 02-11-2012 08:48 AM

wow car has been running pretty good for about a month now and tonight on my way home i was driving under full boost and all of a sudden lost all power. i noticed my check engine light cut off (on due to boomslang harness) the car died as a came to a coasting stop in a safe area. i tried to crank it and it cranks fine but wont start. im going to check fuses in the morning but seems like that ecu isn't getting power cause the check engine light wont light up when you turn the car on and the e-ultimate isn't getting power. has this sver happened to anyone before?

Reverant 02-11-2012 09:14 AM

Does the battery light switch on when you switch the ignition on? If not, then the ECU is not receiving power.

mookie_fiasco 02-11-2012 07:49 PM

i think just the airbag light and seat belt light light up. if that is the case could it be a fuse or the ecu just crapped out on me?

y2kmiata 02-18-2012 07:28 PM

My car is running rich to the point of flooding as well. Hate having to wait to restart my car..... I too would like to know some good I/J numbers to run that will get me close to where I need to be so that I too, don't wind up bottlenecking an intersection and disgracing the miata name... haha. GT30, 460cc, methanol, 12psi, 91 octane. What exactly does the numeric value represent? I know it's affecting the duty cycle at a given RPM and tps voltage....but by how much? It's in percentage correct, seeing as how it's a duty cycle measurment..? Help me out here...first time trying to tune and not wanting to blow ish up.
