How can I get my EMU online?

I bought an EMU used that came with a burned copy of the software now when I try to connect to my windows 7 laptop to it I don't get any communication I have made sure that the preinstaller was installed and tried using a different driver file that I found online and got nothing. I have seen that its suggested on some sites to insatall the older versions of the software but can't find any online anymore it seems all of the sites have expired. The last thing i have to check is to look to see what com port I'm plugged into but don't know which one the EMU uses. Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks

afaik the EMU driver is not compatible with win7. The software runs but it is not possible to establish communication. I use xp but also read that a virtual xp should work.

Have you tried the latest version of the software (Total Tune Up Greddy By TRUST The one you can find on CD or on greddy website is 2.2

I have seen quite a few threads where people have suggested using an XP laptop and it seems that when people have they still had the same problem and I have installed the driver in the xp compatible mode which is supposed to make it work for vista and I assume Windows 7 as well. I will still see if I can find a XP computer to try it. Also from what I have read if you don't have the same version of the software on the computer as what is in the unit then they will not communicate and if they will not communicate it seems that you wouldn't be able to update the software on the unit. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Alternately I was hoping that someone might have saved all the old versions of the software that they could send me or direct me to a site that is still up that has them?

Well after putting this on the back burner for a long time I got a XP laptop from a friend, Thanks Ryan Finch for that, I reloaded XP and the burned copy of the Greddy software and was finally able to communicate with the EMU. I just wanted to complete this thread since I have found so many threads that lack a conclusion while searching for information and hope this might help so one else. Don't forget the EMU needs to be powered up and flashing those LEDs to communicate with your computer.
