Quick (OlderGuy's) O2 clamp wiring question.....
Hi all - been a looooong time since I last visited - boost + MX5 = :skid:
But back to my question - I'd had some problems with an intermittent stumble since last October - I finally tracked it down to the O2 sensor wire and all the various other splices that join to it for stoichmeter, O2 clamp, etc etc. I redid all the connections and YAY - no more stumble. However, on redoing all the wiring, I noticed that the engine end - of the wire which comes off the front terminal of the pressure switch Older Guy supplies - has a central (copper) wire core (red insulation I think) with a sheath of silver coloured wire around it, in black outer casing. In redoing that connection, I trimmed back the silver sheath wire, insulated it, and used the central core wire only. I just wanted to make sure that what I did was correct, or if I should also be splicing to the wire casing and to what. OlderGuy? Anyone? (Bueller? Bueller?) - your assistance would be greatly appreciated..... |
You are correct. Use only the central wire.

Hijack, whats this O2 clamp? I have hearing about it for a while, have no clue what it is though.
