Link Tuning
I am a newb and I'm not too sure how the original base maps on the FMII link were set up. I have a FMII with miatalink, but I do not have the keypad. Can I buy the boost control solenoid from FM and turn the boost from 8lbs (where it is currently) to 12 psi without the keypad? If I can, will the factory maps allow me to do this safely?

Also, if anyone has a keypad and ribbon cable, or anyway to adjust settings (serialLink) I will buy it.

Where are you located? I just ordered the parts to build a cable on Amazon, it is a 14 pin connector, nothing special. Hopefully should have it in a week (about $10). I have a potentially working keypad, if you are near Phoenix. Also, I found out you can use a Palm Pilot for the keypad with an adapter. Let me know how far you got with replies. Thanks! |
You need the serial link to connect the Palm and/or a laptop- but those are both superior solutions to the keypad for tuning. Your best bet is a laptop, serial link and datalog lab (free on FM's web site.)

Any idea on a source for the serial link? I think there was someone making them on this forum.. anyone know?
