Default Vvt swap won't start.

I have a 99 miata and did a vvt swap. Everything Is connected with the 99 harness and 99 computer vics. When I try to start it it sounds like it is trying to start but doesn't. When I checked timing the white and yellow marks wasn't even close for any of the cylinders. Every cylender showed a black line where the timing marks are suppose to be including the first cylender. Is there any way the 99 timing could be thrown off that much?

I searched but nothing really helped me.

It looked like the previous owner had the timing wheel flipped. I took the timming wheel and crank from the 99 and put it on the vvt block. Now I'm not getting any spark. I made sure the gap between the sensor and the timing wheel was a credit cards gap.

Are you using the VVT ignition coils? Maybe a wiring issue there.

I have a ms3 basic sitting around would this be able to tell me what's wrong? Got a obd2 scanner. It only told me that the car had a misfire.
