Any recommendations for books on ECU tuning for FI applications?
 

I'm in the process of buying a car that was a DIY turbo setup, and it has a fully programmable Link ECU that the PO has set up pretty well. However, he's told me that it could use some additional tuning time, and I'd like to try to program it myself to start learning the ropes a bit. I've read through the entire Link ECU programming guide, but I'd also like something with a little more background info and useful engineering information - provided it's relatively easy to understand for a beginner.

I'm also interested in seeing what's possible with ECUs that perhaps the Link can't do, in case I decide to switch to a different stand alone. Most people tell me (including the guys at FM) that the Link is pretty long in the tooth at this point, but from the literature it seems to do most everything one would want. Then again, this could just be my ignorance showing.

Your first book is a great resource, I have a signed copy. But it doesn't really get into huge detail on how to tune an ECU, but gives you all background on sensors and what's happening.

Thanks for the tip, just grabbed a copy from amazon, along with Maximum Boost. Been meaning to read that one for quite awhile.

I just finished "Going Faster! Mastering the Art of Race Driving" (highly recommended for the track junkies), so this'll give me plenty of bedtime reading for awhile.

I see a lot of people going with the MS. Is there some reason it's so much more popular than the Hydra (other than price)? I'll have to dig around and see if I can find a good comparison between all the stand alone solutions to see what features they each provide.
